Hastings, the newly promoted
AVD Selects General Counsel
Advanced Vapor Devices (AVD), a
vertically integrated manufacturer
and distributor of cannabis vaporizer
technology, appointed Doug Fischer
as general counsel. In this new role,
Fischer will direct all aspects of the
company's legal affairs.
Prior to AVD, Fischer served as the
general counsel of Ascend Wellness
Holdings, a multistate operator with
cannabis assets in seven states.
Before that, he was general counsel
of Greenlane Holdings, where he led
the Florida-based maker of ancillary
products to an IPO on the Nasdaq
stock exchange in 2019. He also led
Greenlane's acquisition of publicly
traded KushCo Holdings.
New Execs at Cannabis REIT
Innovative Industrial Properties
(IIPR), a San Deigo-based
corporation that leases properties
to licensed cannabis cultivators,
hired David Smith as chief financial
officer and treasurer. The company
promoted Catherine Hastings to
chief operating officer and Ben
Regin to chief investment officer.
Smith previously was executive
vice president and chief financial
officer at Aventine Property

chief operating officer, previously
served as IIPR chief financial
officer and treasurer, as well as the
company's chief accounting officer.
For the past six years, she led the
company's finance and accounting
teams from $60 million in assets to
more than $2.4 billion in assets.
Regin, the newly promoted chief
investment officer, previously
served as the company's vice
president of investments. He joined
IIPR in 2017.

Drake
Cansortium Appoints CFO
Cansortium, a vertically integrated
cannabis company with operations
in Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas,
appointed Jeffrey Batliner as chief
financial officer.
He succeeds Liora Boudin, who
served as interim CFO.
Batliner brings more than
25 years of financial expertise
to Cansortium. He most recently
served as CFO of Unrivaled Brands,
a publicly traded cannabis firm
where he led three acquisition
integrations. Batliner previously
held executive positions covering
financial reporting and analysis
for both public and private
companies.
In his new role, Batliner will
report to Cansortium CEO Robert
Beasley.
E-commerce Vet to Bloomios
Bloomios, a white-label and
private-label manufacturer and
wholesaler of hemp-derived
nutraceutical, cosmetics and pet
products, appointed e-commerce
veteran Joe Reid as the new chief
manufacturing officer for its wholly
owned subsidiary, Bloomios Private
Label.
Reid joins from Upexi, which

Florida-based Ayr Wellness, a
vertically integrated multistate
cannabis operator, announced that
Jennifer Drake resigned her role as
chief operating officer.
