The Highlights: A northern suburb of Philadelphia, Bucks County is known
for its rolling hills and horse farms, as well as its rich history that predates
the American Revolution. Heartis Yardley is modeled as a sophisticated,
luxury estate with industrial influences inspired by the area's historical
past. A two-story chandeliered foyer has an intricately painted, paneled, and
domed ceiling that draws the eye upward to the second story, which features
iron railed communal spaces. The carpets are inspired by French textile
patterns and manipulated to create a uniqueness of scale, rich visual texture,
and color. Unique paint application methods evoke a sense of contrasting
moldings and intricate details often found in a château.

The Highlights: Inspir is a
framework for allowing the
outdoors inside. Each space is
layered with materials that provide
a warm complement to the building
exterior's concrete frame. Accent
walls of naturally colored stones-
green, yellow, and red onyx-act
as landmarks and wayfinding for
residents. More intimate spaces
for dining, leisure, and activity
are further defined by texture
and detail using custom light
fixtures, handcrafted furniture,
and curated artwork. At the center
of the building is a park in the sky,
a multifunction space bridging
indoors out with an exterior
walking path.

The Highlights: HBA explored deconstructing boundaries and wanted
to create an architectural vocabulary that plays with nature-inspired,
spatial relationships. While certain public areas flow seamlessly from
one into the next, others are protected from adjacent zones with
architectural elements that feel intentional without being confining.
Residents enter through a lobby framed by a double-sided focal
fireplace and midcentury-inspired artwork. While the fireplace acts
as a dividing element between the lobby and the restaurant spaces
behind, an adjacent decorative screen provides a visually continuous
connection. The lobby intuitively flows into a generous lounge/
restaurant space that promotes connectivity.
