I come from a culture that believes everyone deserves to be welcomed with the highest level of hospitality and it shows in all aspects of service and design, be it at our homes or at 5-Star heritage properties. It would certainly be a dream project to work on a hospitality concept in my hometown, Jaipur, India. Personal style? Minimalist at the core with a dash of refi ned eclecticism. What should we be paying attention to? Smaller businesses, especially the ones started at the heel of the pandemic. Smaller cottage industries not only help with carbon footprint but help create global experiences within local communities. Favorite design tip? Play a charette with someone outside your immediate team. There is no greater resource in design than the ones you work with every day. Whether they are on the same project as you or not, there is so much to learn from each other's perspective. Trend you'd be happy to see fade away? All white interiors. There are many successful ways to achieve a timeless, neutral feel without sticking to white on white. Any career advice for up-and-coming designers? Motivation is key. Set goals, meet with your mentors and leaders and work on a plan for how to reach those goals. Then put in the work. No ceiling is too high. 64 FALL 2 0 2 2 RENDERINGS: FREEDES STUDIO COURTESY OF HARKEN INTERIORS
