Victrola Stream Onyx Offers Vinyl Playback via Sonos
VICTROLA, a name synonymous
with turntable and
other music-related product
manufacturing for 115+
years, has introduced the
Victrola Stream Onyx, the
second model in its Stream
turntable lineup.
Debuting at CES 2023 in
Las Vegas last month, the
turntable is verified as a
Works with Sonos product
and offers a revamp of build
materials from the original
Victrola Stream Carbon, the
company says.
As with the original turntable,
the Victrola Stream
Onyx (which runs $599 vs.
the $799 Stream Carbon)
provides listeners the ability
to enjoy wireless vinyl music
through their entire Sonos
ecosystem - including
multiroom configurations -
with no additional equipment
required.

For users or dealers setting
up a product, the Victrola
Stream app (iOS and Android)
offers quick configuration
and connects the twospeed,
belt-driven turntable
wirelessly to a Sonos system
in seconds, according to the
company. Traditional stereo
speakers can also be used in
tandem with a Sonos speaker
system via the turntable's
RCA outputs.
After setup is complete,
the Stream Onyx fully integrates
with the Sonos app
for easy command, while the
built-in illuminated control

with a custom-designed
removable headshell, fitted
with a premium cartridge

The easily adjustable
counterweight enables users
to apply the appropriate
downforce, Victrola says, for
improved dynamic frequency
response and clarity.
The Victrola Stream
Carbon earned a CE Pro
BEST Award in the Best
Multiroom AV Components
category, announced at
CEDIA Expo 2022. Additionally,
the company recently
announced a new Bluetooth
loudspeaker line.
L-Acoustics Assists Chinese in Counterfeit Loudspeakers Case
PARTNERING WITH Chinese authorities, L-Acoustics was
recently involved in tracking down five counterfeiters who
had been producing and selling counterfeit L-Acoustics
loudspeakers in China. They were subsequently found guilty
and sent to jail. A batch of counterfeit signs, molds, and other
items was seized in Shiji Town, Guangzhou as well.
A public hearing was held in The People's Court of Panyu
District where the suspects presented their defense against
the filed physical and documentary evidence, expert opinions,
witness testimonies, and the victim's statements.
The court found the suspects guilty of counterfeiting a
registered trademark and were initially sentenced to at least
one year in prison, fined, and their activity suspended for
varying years. Since probation for similar activities had been
revoked in previous cases, the counterfeiters ended up with

prison sentences of up to three years.
The company notes fakes will not deliver the same performance
as their originals and expose operators and the
public to hazardous safety risks and even more severe legal
liabilities if an accident occurs. There's also the risk of a safety
inspection from local authorities during a show. A lack of
genuine certification of conformity can cause authorities to
shut down a show or production altogether.
" To protect the company IP and our partners, not to
mention users' safety, we have dedicated significant financial
and human resources to act against counterfeit products, "
states Laurent Ostojski, Senior Legal Counsel at L-Acoustics.
" We are pleased to see that firm legal action on the part of
L-Acoustics has led to punishment for parties that have been
proven to use our brand illegally. "
