industry, she has seen a lot
of change.
" What fascinates me
about our industry is that
smart home means something
different to everyone.
To some people, having a
smart home means using a
voice assistant to play music
or create a shopping list, to
others it could be having a
motion-activated light in
their laundry room, and to
many, it's having a home
with numerous IoT devices
controlled by an app. "
She adds, " We've seen
a tremendous shift in
consumer sentiment and
adoption for smart home
products starting with people
viewing them as gadgets.
Today, smart home products
are used to solve problems,
assist with caregiving, create
peace of mind, and simplify
everyday tasks. My hope is
that consumers continue to
see the true benefits these
products bring and that
living with these products
becomes the norm and not
the exception. "

Previously, Baker served as Chair of CEDIA UK.
Hileman has held various sales and human resources
management roles for CEDIA member companies in the
Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., markets. He was also
an instructional design consultant for federal clients and as
part of an internal corporate training team.
Fuller is the owner and director of integration firm Automated
Audio Visual. Outside of his business, he spends
time volunteering in various CEDIA working groups and as a
CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI).
Tkachuk is an audio product manufacturer for Audy Instruments,
Inc. Alongside his AV integration company, Tkachuk
Associates, Tkachuk started Symbol Logic, a company
that streamlines the AV drawing process for installers.
Warburton runs Ivory Egg UK, a KNX distributor and
training provider, and is a director of the global Ivory Egg
Group. His passion is to educate and support integrators in
running more profitable businesses.

CEDIA Honors
Volunteers of the Year
CEDIA HAS RECOGNIZED five individuals for its annual
CEDIA Volunteer of the Year Awards. These are presented
to those who have made essential contributions to association
programs over the past year.
The 2022 CEDIA Volunteers of the Year are: Certification
Volunteer of the Year - Andy Baker (UK); Education Volunteer
of the Year - Rob Hileman (US); New Volunteer of the
Year - Jake Fuller (AUS); Standards Volunteer of the Year
- David Tkachuk (US); and Volunteer of the Year - Mark
Warburton (UK).
