Denon, Marantz AVR Models
Upgraded for HDMI 2.1
SOUND UNITED, the parent company of several audio
brands including Denon and Marantz, has announced factory
upgrades for the Denon AVR-X8500H and Marantz AV8805
preamplifi er/processor.
The newly upgraded products will receive " A " designations to
symbolize their status as HDMI 2.1-equipped solutions.
Sound United points out
the updates are available via
authorized Denon and Marantz
dealers for a fee of $599.
The company adds that eventually
the new versions of the
Denon AVR-X8500HA and
Marantz AV8805A will replace
the existing models, and the
products will retail for $4,299
and $4,799, respectively.

According to Sound United, once the Denon AVR-8500H
and Marantz AV8805 are upgraded to " A " status the products
will provide 8K upscaling at 60Hz, along with 4K at 120Hz passthrough;
HDR10+, dynamic HDR capabilities, and HDCP 2.3
copyright protection.
Another benefi t from the HDMI 2.1 upgrade for the AVRX8500HA
and AV8805A is quick media switching (QMS) to
instantly switch frame rates to eliminate screen blackout.
Other technologies and formats the AV components will
support include Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) HDR, Dolby Vision
HDR, 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling and BT.2020 color gamut
pass-through. To support gamers, the HDMI 2.1 format upgrade
will provide Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to reduce frame tearing,
as well as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Quick Frame
Transport (QFT), which are technologies designed to reduce
image lag.
Biamp Bundles Certified
for Zoom Rooms
BIAMP, a supplier of professional AV solutions, has announced
that Zoom Video Communications has certifi ed
two conference room audio bundles, enabling users to
benefi t from a complete audio solution in medium and large
Zoom Rooms.
Each bundle includes Parlé Beamtracking microphones for
the ceiling, along with all the audio equipment needed to
build an outstanding Zoom Rooms conferencing experience
with superior sound quality and zero cable termination.

Yamaha AVENTAGE AVRs
Add Auro-3D
AURO TECHNOLOGIES' immersive audio format Auro-3D
will be introduced by Yamaha on its newest AVENTAGE AV
receiver platforms.
Yamaha's models RX-A8A and RX-A6A will include Auro-3D,
according to Auro. The AVRs off er 11- and nine- channels, respectively.
Auro-3D is a fully backwards compatible format that
creates a full, three-dimensional space around the listener. With
a range of speaker confi gurations, the AVENTAGE models can
transform the listening room, regardless of the original audio
format, Auro says.
Yamaha implements Auro-3D in the AVENTAGE AVRs combining
the Auro-Codec decoder and Auro-Matic up-mixer. To experience
Auro-3D, the user simply requires an RX-A8A or RX-A6A, a
Blu-ray player, and an Auro-3D confi gured speaker array.
