Crestron Names Clancy as Chief Sales Officer
CRESTRON ELECTRONICS
has announced its promotion
of John Clancy to the
chief sales officer (CSO)
position, effective immediately.
In this newly created
role, Clancy will lead and
unify the global Crestron
sales organization.
The company says Clancy,
who steered Crestron's
residential business and its
rollout and expansion of Crestron
Home, will seek to drive
market growth and enhance
customer satisfaction. Clancy
reports directly to Crestron's
CEO and president, Dan
Feldstein. He will continue to
be based at the global technology
leader's headquarters
in Rockleigh, N.J.
Feldstein expresses
excitement about Clancy's
promotion to the CSO role.
Indeed, he remarks, " His
leadership has been instrumental
in driving growth
and integration across our
global residential sales
teams. We are confident
that he will bring the same
energy and expertise to this
new role. "
Moreover, he notes
Clancy's experience in the
industry, coupled with his
strategic vision. These, Feldstein
says, " ... will strengthen
Crestron's market position
and industry leadership in
the years to come. "
In his new role, Clancy will
take charge of Crestron's
entire sales operation.
Importantly for the company,
the move will unify
teams across global regions
and channel categories. As
such, he will seek to drive
strong collaboration and
cross-functional engagement
between business
units, the company says.

the solutions that take

opportunities and drive
exceptional results for our

Clancy enthuses. " I am

Clancy has more than
30 years' experience in the
audiovisual industry. He
joined Crestron seven years
ago following 23 years as
executive VP and CTO of
CE Pro 100 integrator Audio
Command Systems.
Under Clancy's leadership,
the Crestron Electronics
residential sales teams
globally have integrated
more tightly, while sales in
each region have continually
experienced year-over-year
growth, the company notes.
Most recently, Clancy spearheaded
the creation of the
Crestron hospitality division.
Under Clancy's tenure as
VP Residential for Crestron,
he guided the company's
game-changing launch of
Crestron Home in 2019,
which has expanded to
support myriad subsystems
Longtime Audio PR Rep Stanton Passes Away
BRYAN STANTON, a public relations fixture in consumer
electronics for nearly 50 years, died on February 20, 2023.
Stanton founded J.B. Stanton Communications way back in
1977. Over the years he served many different brands, including
Lenbrook for 16 years and later Pass Labs.
Stanton, along with his team of writers that over the
years included Stan Pinkwas and Kim Thomas most notably,
focused primarily on high-end audio brands. The Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) was their primary venue for
press meetings, press conferences, and, of course, lengthy
dinner meetings.
His PR citations include helping to create and define what
is now the home theater market for client Dolby Laboratories
to establishing brand new technologies and product
categories in the market.

Prior to forming his own agency, Stanton was the editor of
a leading Hi-Fi trade magazine of its time from 1968 to 1977.
He later became executive editor of parent company St.
Regis Publications, overseeing 13 different titles. He started
many new magazines and media, including the first " Daily "
newspaper at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show), as well
as a European AV trade magazine.
According to Stereophile, Stanton suffered from ALS in
later years. His obituary from Norfolk Now says he moved
to the small town, known as the " icebox of Connecticut, " in
1996. From there, he ran his business primarily electronically
and via telephone, rarely leaving the confines of his adopted
hometown. He is survived by his longtime companion and
later spouse, Barry Webber, and a sister, Ellen Nebus Smith,
and family of Winter Park, Fla.
