THIS REQUEST for
an immersive film
experience led to unconventional
design choices by Indian
integrator MACBEE PVT.
Unlike traditional setups
where screens are typically
placed on narrower walls,
this 14.5-foot-wide screen
was positioned on the wider
wall. This resulted in limited
seating space, accommodating
11 recliners: five in the
front row and six elevated
on a custom 1.6-foot plinth
in the rear row.
The second-floor location
posed challenges for housing
the big Barco projector and
equipment rack, as there was

overseeing the buildout out,
a first for Australia, enthuses
Dorset. Over 150 acoustic
panels are covering the
walls and ceiling, drawing
inspiration from 2001: A
Space Odyssey. Seating is
by Fortress and incorporates
D-Box haptic motion.

standards effectively. The
equipment rack and cables
were housed in a separate
server room to maintain a
clean aesthetic and minimize
noise.
