THE 'Kings' luxury
home is in one of
Australia's most desirable
suburbs and it offers
180-degree views of the
Sydney Harbor. It also offers
tons of integrated technology
fit for a king.
Savant was chosen as
the overarching control for
its reliability and beautiful
interface, from there
every possible sub-system
was fully integrated. This
includes an extensive Lutron
lighting system, Nice
shading solution, Elk alarm
system with perimeter and
internal coverage, 2N access
control, HVAC control
integrating 12 zones of air
conditioning, and another
19 zones of underfloor
heating.
Full temperature feedback,
scheduling and control
is also available within the
Savant automation platform.
The swimming pool
has DMX color control of
the lighting and full control
of the swim jets. For
advanced surveillance, 13
deep-learning Axis cameras
monitor the roughly
7,000-square-foot home
and property.
The AV system is tailored
in every area - there are 11
zones of stereo audio, four
video zones with tiling, and
high-performance audio
brands including Meridian
Audio, Focal, MartinLogan,
Linn, Ascendo, and Ambisonic
were deployed.

if we could have altered the

" A good example of that
would be the lack of any
equipment room. We had
to negotiate a space in the
home to incorporate the extensive
electronics required
for the client's wish list. "
He adds that getting into
the project earlier would
have facilitated proper theater
design and any structural
or aesthetic changes
necessary to achieve the
space to our requirements
for this. The room had large
windows which we would
need to work around as well
as its location underneath
the principal bedroom
which would create noise
isolation challenges, " Dorset
states.
" We designed around
these and came up with
creative solutions such as
the isolation ceiling in the
cinema which uses little
space but creates a fantastic
barrier between the cinema
and bedroom. "
