Nice Spins Off PERS
Specialist Brand Numera
New owner Malar Group adds personal emergency
response system provider to portfolio spanning physical
infrastructure to digital services in the IT, cybersecurity,

NICE IS SELLING its stake
in the personal emergency
response system (PERS)
industry. Announced in August,
the home and building
management company announced
it will be selling its
health and wellness brand,
Numera, to the Malar Group
at a currently indeterminate
point in the future.
The decision to sell
Numera, as stated by Nice,
is part of the company's
roadmap to help hone
the company's portfolio
of products, and follows
the strategic rebranding
of SpeakerCraft, Elan, and
Panamax from late last year.
Closing the transaction,
according to the company
is " a critical step in simplifying
the Nice portfolio
and strengthening the
company's focus on its core
business. "
In this next stage of
growth, Nice states it will
be accelerating its expansion
and integration of
brands to create a more
robust, powerful whole12

home solution for its partners
and end-users.
Having been in operation
for over 20 years, Numera
has been recognized for its
contribution to telehealth
and telecare monitoring
solutions. These solutions
include the Home Safety
Hub medical alert system,
the Libris 2 emergency
support pendant, and the
EverThere cloud-based
health tracking application.
These solutions allow
service providers and
health-related companies
to more reliably track and
manage the health and
wellbeing of their customers
while also providing individuals
greater independence
and confidence regarding
their health and safety.
While the company has
plenty of promise and
concentration on the aging
in place demographic, it
also works in construction,
retail, delivery and personal
security.
Following the sale,
Numera will be brought
under the umbrella of
the Malar Group, which
currently contains an array
of businesses spanning
manufacturers of physical
infrastructure to digital
service providers in the
IT, cybersecurity, communications,
and education
sectors, among others.

as the broader tech space.
Digital healthcare is still
largely in its infancy though
as what will become the
largest senior population
in U.S. history is just now
entering into retirement
age, with a significant majority
hoping to live out the
remainder of their years in
their homes, rather than in
a care facility.
Where the smart home
plays into the trend is still
something that is yet to
be determined. It will be
interesting to track if in
the coming years, Numera
somehow makes its way
back into the smart home
space under different pretenses.
