Research Forecasts Wi-Fi 6 Market Set to Jump
THE ENTERPRISE WI-FI market
is undergoing significant
evolution. Driven by a desire
to take advantage of the
new 6GHz spectrum, which
offers the prospect of greatly
improved throughput and latency
rates as well as reduced
congestion on legacy bands,
enterprise will see rapid rates
of Wi-Fi 6E adoption.
ABI Research forecasts
shipments of Wi-Fi 6E access
points will rise from 1.5 million
in 2022 to 5.2 million in 2024.
Spectrum expansion is just
one facet, as the tech of Wi-Fi
is soon to be upgraded.

Uniden Kits Boost
Cell Device Signals
OFFERING INTEGRATORS a choice of value-minded and
reliable solutions, Uniden by Siyata has announced a series of
cell phone booster kits.
The company says kits can be used to improve signal reliability
and connections in properties that include homes and
small businesses. Once the products are installed, the company
emphasizes users will have failsafe phone calls, uninterrupted
streaming from their smart devices, and the ability to send and
receive texts quickly.
Uniden's line of cell phone booster kits come in three
packages. The U60C Cellular Booster Kit can boost as many as
20 cellular devices in small office or residential locations up to
1,500 square feet. The mid-level U65C Cellular Booster Kit is
capable of boosting up to 30 cellular devices and it covers up
to 2,500 square feet.
Uniden's top-of-the-line cell phone booster kit is the
U65XC Cellular Booster Kit. According to the company, the
U65XC kit boosts as many as 50 cellular devices, and can
cover up to 4,500 square feet. The company adds that its cell

phone kits work with all the major cell phone service carriers
in the U.S. and Canada.
SurgeX Names Russell
to Lead Residential Sales
SURGEX, a manufacturer of advanced power protection, analytical
software, remote monitoring, and cloud solutions, has
appointed Chad Russell as director of residential sales.
An industry veteran with over 25 years of experience,
including channel companies Crestron, Kaleidescape and Josh.

the sales team towards achieving new milestones.

ABI Research. Another area to
keep an eye on is IT/OT convergence.
While a large chasm
remains, strategies to pursue
convergence are beginning to
materialize, which will stimulate
further Wi-Fi innovation.
Perhaps one of the most
impactful developments
will be the maturing of the
convergence of Wi-Fi and 5G
private networks.
" We are now transitioning
to a world in which it is not
only technically possible for
Wi-Fi and cellular to coexist in
the same private network, but
one that is becoming a vital
solution in many applications, "
Spivey says.
Private networks that
incorporate both Wi-Fi and
5G stand to benefit from the
best of both technologies -
from 5G's ultra-low latency,
extended range, impenetrable
security, and impeccable
reliability, and from Wi-Fi's
reduced deployment costs
and complexity, generational
backward compatibility, alongside
a greater existing market
familiarity with the technology.
Yet, converged private
networks will not be adopted
across the board. Traditional
carpeted IT enterprises
will continue to rely upon
familiar and trustworthy Wi-Fi

in Wi-Fi will be driven by
the new 6GHz spectrum
tech possibilities
technology, as will verticals
that operate in predominantly
indoor environments with few
mission-critical applications,
notably education, hospitality,
and retail. On the other
side, industries spanning vast
outdoor environments, such
as agriculture, will be better
suited for cellular solutions.
