Kore Logic implemented a new lighting control system
by bringing twelve disparate systems down to one
overarching lighting solution.

THE HOME FIELD of the Green Bay Packers,
Lambeau Field, is the longest-tenured
stadium in the National Football League
(NFL). The stadium underwent a significant
renovation in 2001 and has added several
upgrades and expansions since then.
As a result of these two decades of
changes, there were over 12 disparate
lighting control systems from different
manufacturers that were not fully integrated.
This sparked the search for a single
technology provider that could unify and
standardize solutions into one ecosystem.
After an extensive evaluation of over 20
different lighting control manufacturers,
Crestron was selected to replace and upgrade
the stadium-wide controls. Crestron
was awarded the project in December
2020 and began working on phase one.
As conversations continued, the team
at Lambeau Field learned more about their
lighting and control systems. With 12 disparate
systems in various areas, it became a
priority to unite the control throughout the
venue under one vender.
Creating a Single Lighting Control
System
Kore Logic was the CSP (Crestron Service
Provider) arm on the project. VDH Electric
served as the Electrical Contractor, Sommerville
was the Electrical Engineer, and
Spectrum Lighting Controls was the Agent.
The installation is a cohesive lighting
automation system that allows stadium
management to easily update lighting preferences
and closely monitor and control
energy expenditures for the facility.
" The stadium is over two million square
feet, so having Crestron allows us to
streamline operations and reduce energy
consumption, " says Anne Larson, Facilities
Office Manager, Green Bay Packers.
Similar to many projects of the past
year, the biggest installation challenge for
deployment and programming was COVID.
However, the teams were able to adapt and
rise to the challenge. To help the installation
go smoothly, Crestron pre-IDed the 96 panels
and keypads at manufacturing facilities
so that they can be plugged in and work
upon arrival at the stadium.
Monitoring allows facilities to proactively
keep track of their systems rather than react
to situations. This proves to be increasingly
important on gamedays when it is critical to
have a system to rely on.
" We recently implemented robust information
security standards and Crestron was
the lone company to have many of these
security features already integrated into the
makeup of their solutions, " says Larson.
The implementation of the first lighting
control system at Lambeau Field took place
over 20 years ago. From then to now, there
had been 12 individual systems added to
control different areas.
