YOU'VE PROBABLY NOTICED a recurring
theme in this month's issue of Commercial
Integrator: we're recognizing products and
projects in a number of awards for the year.
As many members of our audience have experienced,
the past year has disrupted routines
across the industry.
You'll notice that a handful of our Integration
Awards winners (PAGE 18) completed their
projects under strict COVID-19 health and safety
protocols, while dealing with shipping and receiving
issues, product shortages
and general complications resulting
from lockdowns and the like.
Typically, we announce our
Top New Technology Awards
(PAGE 6) in February alongside
Integrated Systems Europe.
Our BEST Awards (PAGE 42)

the pride felt in learning how integrators
navigated the diffi culty of
the past year.
However, there can only be one
winner in each category. Keep this
issue close as the year progresses
because you'll want to be fully
aware of the impressive products
that have made a diff erence in
integrator's lives over the last year.
You'll want to check out every
one of the Top New Technology
Award winners to see what fi ts
introduced in the past year. The winners of our
BEST awards helped integrators to navigate the
perilous world of COVID-19 protocols, and a
number of winners were directly created to help
businesses handle health and safety protocols.
What we decided to do this year was bring
all of our awards into one issue.
We know there haven't been as many
trade shows for you to experience these new
products fi rsthand, so we want to provide you
with as much information as we can to help you
understand the evolving landscape and intro4

into your off erings portfolio. You will certainly
want to check out the incredible projects that
were completed in the past year - and maybe
take some of those ideas and apply them to
your own business moving forward.
Integrators should keep this issue close
in hand for months to come. It can help you
determine how you'll want to navigate the
show fl oor come InfoComm in October. It will
give you a heads up on who to congratulate at
Total Tech Summit in November. It might even
introduce you to the new product that boosts
your business in the latter half of the year.
And, of course, there is plenty of great business
knowledge from subject matter experts,
industry thought leaders, and CI staff .
