Jury comments:
* This product is truly innovative and the fi rst of its
kind. The benefi ts this product can provide are
extensive to both the resident and the care staff.
It provides peace of mind knowing that if there is
a fall or an issue like they mentioned of a large
amount of water on the fl oor, which could cause a
fall, the staff is notifi ed. It is innovative in the idea
that it is fully integrated into the design and creates
an automatic notifi cation and not something
that the resident has to push or pull to notify the
staff that something has occurred.
* This concept has been discussed before but this
is the fi rst to market that I am aware of. The scalability
and customization opportunities with third
party software applications allows the product to
evolve over time which is very exciting.
* Wow-no alarms, no monitors, great idea! A major
step forward in fall mitigation.

A fall is devastating for a community, especially if relying
on the resident to alert nursing staff. Sole™
with Sensfl oor®
Technology can alert staff without any action from the resident.
With integration in existing buildings or in new construction,
this product offers invisible and discreet assistance and delivers
movement and fall information to supplement care.
Sole sensors are put directly onto the subfl oor with a layer of
cork surrounding to keep the fl ooring level. Flooring is installed
on top of the system. A moisture barrier is installed as part of the
Sole system on top of the sensors to allow for the system to be
installed in high-moisture environments such as bathrooms and to
protect the sensors from top-down moisture.
Sole™
with Sensfl oor®
Technology can alert staff to falls, as well
as help mitigate potential fall hazards. Based on customizable
settings, the system can turn on integrated lighting, alert staff if a
resident is entering the shower, detect a large amount of water on
the fl oor, and alert staff when residents are in high-risk areas such
as the closet or bathroom. Historical data can also be evaluated
by care staff informing opportunities to modify care plans such
as identifying movement during sleeping hours, trips to the
bathroom, or engagement between residents during quiet times.
The Sole system can connect to most commercial nurse call
systems and is an alternative to wearables that require resident
action. Discrete and unobtrusive, Sole can help build confi dence
between staff and residents and provide peace of mind to the
resident and their families.
