CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY
Kingsboro at Lenbrook Atlanta

The high demand for Lenbrook's premier lifestyle
and location created a vision for an expansion
to serve the growing independent living market.
The vision became a reality with the Kingsboro
expansion, opening on-time and in budget, amid
the pandemic.
The design concept required close collaboration
with the city and adjacent neighborhoods.
Careful attention was given to the style and
scale of the Villa residences to transition from
Lenbrook's contemporary Lenox Tower to the
residential scale and tradition of the adjoining
Buckhead neighborhood, including complex
height restrictions.
Providing a seamless connection between the
Kingsboro residences and the existing Lenbrook
community was essential. Relocating the existing
entry and parking to a lower level created a
new motor court, providing a single main entry
for both the existing and new campuses. An
enclosed pedestrian-friendly connector bridges
the existing Tower and new Kingsboro lobby,
ensuring that new and existing residents enjoy
the abundant amenities and engagement with
their community.
Residents experience the benefits of biophilic
design with a strong connection to daylight,
nature, and the outdoors. Located in bustling
Buckhead, the Plaza Courtyard became a key
design component for providing a resident greenspace
and respite from the surrounding urban
hardscape. Thoughtful composition of landscape
and hardscape creates a variety of spaces to
promote wellness through resident engagement.
Resident balconies and Villa gardens create public
and private spaces along the Courtyard, while
fountains provide tranquility for the walking paths,
lawn, firepits, and lounge areas. A regulation-size
croquet lawn provides a lively area for competitive
leagues, while the Rooftop Terrace with its skyline
views, and an outdoor lounge just off the lobby
round out the active lifestyle amenities available
to the Lenbrook community.
