The Ridge Pinehurst is a 364-unit
Independent Living, Assisted Living,
and Memory Care community in
Lakewood, Colo. The Ridge is ideally
located in an established residential
community and adjacent to
esiden
Lakewood's premier golf course. The
site affords spectacular views of the
surrounding Rocky Mountains.
Based on its senior living consumer
research, the design team focused
on the programming and design
of spaces that invite the community
at large to promote community
uumintegration
and all age participation.
The design also optimizes connections
to the outdoors and incorporates
a variety of outdoor activities
including outdoor dining, fire pits,
lounge area, bocce ball and walking
paths. Floor-to-ceiling glass was
strategically placed throughout the
social and activity areas to reinforce
indoor-outdoor connections. The
design concept maximizes views to
the activity courtyard, the surrounding
mountains, and golf course. The
dHealth
and Wellness Center was
designed as a community destination
with a separate community entrance
and parking area. The Center features
indoor pool, massage and treatment
rooms, aerobics room, fitness room,
steam rooms and beauty salon.
Countless research studies show a
lack of social connection impacts us
directly both physically and emotionally,
and seniors are especially susceptible.
The Ridge provides a variety
of social settings for both planned
and spontaneous activities. The
amenity areas include several dining
venues, active learning spaces, art
studio, classrooms, pickle ball court,
and a host of flexible spaces that can
adjust to various social functions
and activities as resident preferences
evolve. The overall imagery was
established as a " Colorado Lodge " to
relate to the surrounding community
and the Colorado Lifestyle.

INDEPENDENT LIVING/ASSISTED LIVING/MEMORY CARE
Senior Resource Group, Maravilla at The Domain AUSTIN, TEXAS
Submitted by: Perkins Eastman CHICAGO
Maravilla at The Domain offers an
abundance of wellness programming,
attentive service, and imaginative
cuisine, all in a stylish setting. Strategically
located within a vibrant lifestyle
district offering retail, restaurants,
entertainment, and more, Maravilla
creates a walkable and connected
community for aging adults. Expert
healthcare and memory support is
also available should the need arise.
Three mid-rise towers, providing
independent living, assisted living,
and memory support, are organized
around four courtyards and connected
by a first-floor center for healthy living.
Community amenities create a
hospitality-inspired lifestyle informed
by aspects of health and wellness. The
restaurant offers signature dishes and
seasonal favorites; the bar is a lively spot
for happy hour and after dinner drinks;
and the bistro is open throughout the
day for grab-and-go items. Even more
dining can be found right outside Maravilla's
doorstep, within The Domain.
The center for healthy living embodies
ZEST, Senior Resource Group's
program for well-being, bringing
healthy, positive balance to each day
with experiences focusing on the fundamental
areas of self. A fitness center,
pool, movie theatre, library, salon,
community room, on-site therapy, and
healthy dining options provide opportunities
for holistic nourishment.
Drawing inspiration from the local
vernacular and surrounding landscape,
interior and exterior design elements
create a balance between resort-style
hospitality and residential warmth,
reflecting a " relaxed elegance " of the
Texas Hill Country. Locally sourced
stone, reclaimed leather belts accenting
millwork cabinetry, and blackened iron
details introduce a local rustic flavor
while balancing a clean modern approach
to the architecture.
