fi nalist beyond hospitality Wan Fat Jinyi Cinema Shenzhen, China Known for their imaginative, otherworldly take on movie cinemas, Ajax Law and Virginia Lung of One Plus Partnership have brought their signature spin to Wan Fat Jinyi Cinema in Shenzhen. As an homage to the theater and a nod to stage lighting, the lobby ceiling stars a unique lighting installation that is assembled in two layers, pointing outwards at opposite directions. These fl oating pendants refl ect off the bronze surfaces to create an interesting play of light and shadow. The screening area-wrapped in yellow and orange accent colors- doubles as an auditorium for live performances while encouraging social interaction among patrons.
