What makes Tempur Sealy different from
your competitors?
What really sets us apart is our dedication to
developing partnerships with our customers.
We're not just selling them a product. We're
building relationships and learning about their
properties in order to help them make a return on
their investment and provide their guests with an
outstanding sleep experience that only Tempur
Sealy can provide.
We're able to grow these relationships thanks
to our continued investments in our product
development and distribution network. This, of
course, allows us to be bett er for our customers
long term. For example, we're committ ed to not
adding fuel surcharges to any shipments. We can
do that because of our fi nancial stability and the
opening of more manufacturing facilities to our
network.
It's this type of partnership that has helped us
have the #1 and #2 matt ress brands in America
for years and, we anticipate, well into the future.
How do you incorporate eco-friendly
practices into your company?
Our ESG initiatives are robust at Tempur
Sealy. This is shown by being the only matt ress
manufacturer to achieve the highest rating of
" leader " with MindClick.
In addition to our already established
recycling eff orts, we have committ ed to achieving
carbon neutrality across our global operations by
2040. That means working to reduce or off set our
greenhouse gas emissions from our wholly owned
manufacturing, retail and logistics operations.
We are doing this by investing in renewable
energy by adding multimillion dollar solar panel
technology at our largest manufacturing site and
will continue to make these types of investments
in our global operation.
What keeps you passionate about the
industry?
Defi nitely the overall resolve. I mean, we just
came through one of the hardest times our
industry has ever seen. Yet you go to leadership
meetings, and everyone continues to march
forward and maintain that passion, which makes
me excited about where we are going. Because
there is a lot of tremendous opportunity out there
as we look to the future, even though we are
coming out of incredibly uncertain times.
Something that surprises you about
Tempur Sealy.
Our growth and ability to continue to make
investments in the future of sleep, regardless of
outside circumstances.
It's no secret that the last few years have been
challenging from a supply and distribution aspect
for a lot of industries, including hospitality. But by
working to become a more integrated company
and embracing a more vertical platform, we're
able to continue to create a premium product
without having to shiſt costs to our customers or
extend lead times.
Describe your business in one sentence.
Tempur Sealy continues to be a partner and
leader in the hospitality industry - an industry
that has experienced countless obstacles over
the last couple years, but one that is reemerging
stronger than ever.
