To meet the growing demand for physical
therapy, Houston Methodist engaged Dewberry
to plan and design a space in a new facility that
doubled the physical therapy patient care area
for Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports
Medicine in Friendswood. Patient services
include patient evaluation and physical intervention,
including treatment to help patients
recover mobility due to sports injuries, auto
accidents, work-related accidents, post-operative
surgeries, falls, and strokes. This facility
includes hand therapy stations, a 70-foot-long
pitching lane, a track for gait evaluation, exam
rooms, lockers, a full gym with state-of-the-art
conditioning and training equipment, and staff
support areas.

nation's most comprehensive, integrated academic
health care delivery systems - sought to
upgrade and expand its intensive care units and
create a new amenities-level medical/surgical
unit with single-patient rooms. EwingCole
planned and designed three 20-bed intensive
care units and an 18-bed medical/surgical floor.
The ICUs are acuity adaptable, enabling patients
to remain on the unit while care needs
progress. The new amenities unit provides
a personalized experience for each patient.
Waiting areas and family rooms offer space for
gatherings, while reflection rooms and respite
zones provide spaces for rest and recovery.
