Health & Wellness Center's
$90 million expansion and
renovation, designed to
deliver culturally responsive,
trauma-informed healthcare
to the diverse North Minneapolis
community. The
facility will house wellness
shelf, drop-in daycare,
shuttle service, teaching
kitchen, and a Spirituality
and Healing Center.

Intersection of Art and
Design: A Penn State
Health Case Study,
Monday, Oct. 10, 9:3010:30
a.m. Learn about
the experiential design journey
that Penn State Health
embarked on for its new
Hampden Medical Center.
To ensure that diversity,
equity, and inclusion were
considered in the design
process, patient personas
were created to bring users'
perspectives into the design
conversation. Presenters will
follow their path to illustrate
how the design supports the
patient experience.

Centers and Their
Neighborhoods:
Design for Health and
Vibrancy, Tuesday, Oct.
11, 1:15-2:15 p.m.
Speakers will discuss how
evolving ideas of healthcare
and urbanism can combine
to create a new model for
the urban medical center
that can improve the health
and welfare of patients,
visitors, and staff as well as
the neighborhoods where
they reside.
E89: Thoughtful Design
Solutions for the
Pediatric Mental Health
Crisis, Tuesday, Oct. 11,
2:30-3:30 p.m. The worsening
crisis in pediatric mental
health will have lingering
effects that will last long
after COVID-19. Speakers
will discuss opportunities to
implement strategies from
pediatric health design and
apply them to other places
where children spend their
time. Attendees will brainstorm
ideas that overlay a
pediatric and mental health
design lens on all spaces
that kids frequent.
