As we start the new year, we are hopeful and optimistic about our industry.
The past few years have had some ups and downs, but after two years of
modest declines, we are happy to report that our 2025 Kitchen & Bath Market
Outlook reveals the U.S. market will return to growth. Professional-led K&B
spending is also expected to rise, and we foresee continued strength in the
luxury market - and, quite signifi cantly, a rebound in middle-market projects,
which will be key to a full recovery in the remodeling sector.
Professional trade activity is expected to continue to outpace DIY, according
to our research. And while new construction spending for K&B was
more vigorous than remodeling in 2024, we see that reversing for 2025, with
more favorable borrowing rates leading to an increase in remodeling projects.
We can also expect strength in renovation spending on rental properties, and repair/remodeling
because of natural disasters will also grow by a couple of points. Disaster-impacted households tend
to spend 38% more on K&B projects overall.
Some headwinds include uncertainty around tariff and immigration policies, which could impact
pricing as well as the labor force. But the overarching result of our comprehensive study shows positive
momentum heading into 2025 and the second half of this decade. I will be discussing these fi ndings in
greater detail during the State of the Association/State of the Industry presentation at KBIS on Wednesday,
Feb. 26, at 8:30 a.m.
Which brings me to our premier event of the year. KBIS 2025 promises to be larger and more comprehensive
than ever, with a stunning array of new products, designs, innovations, trends and smart
technologies on display, as well as tremendous educational opportunities. Our Voices from the Industry
Conference is always a highlight, available in person at the show and on demand afterward.
The NKBA booth (SL3125) is newly located in South Hall, along with the Global Connect Hub, including
kiosks, several international pavilions and the Global Connect Lounge. More than 75 Global Connect
members and individual country pavilions are identifi ed along the Global Connect Design Trail throughout
the show and identifi ed on the KBIS app.
The KBIS NEXTStage, also in South Hall, features dynamic sessions with daily hosts, which include
K&B luminaries John McClain, Sophie Donelson and Breegan Jane. I am thrilled to be presenting a session
on the stage as well: " CEO Perspectives: Defi ning New Synergies in Smart Home Design, " with Daryl
Friedman, global president and CEO of CEDIA. We'll discuss the powerful synergy between residential
design and smart home technology and offer unique perspectives on innovation and strategic growth.
