INTERNATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Get to Know a Member of the NEWH Milano Chapter

Eszter Radnóczy
Born into a family of engineers, Eszter Radnóczy spent her childhood in Hungary surrounded by blueprints. " My
mother worked with lathes, but also sewed and painted, and my grandfather was always tinkering. My father was one
of the inventors of the automatic carwash line developed for Csepel Iron and Metal Works, " recalls the founder of este'r
partners architecture and interior design studio. " I always wanted to shape the environment around myself. The bed has
never been in the same place for two days. "
Following her economics studies, a practical path encouraged by her parents, Radnóczy pursued a master's degree
in finance at Università Bocconi in Milan, a city that expanded her imagination and led her to the IDI-Italian Design
Institute. " I was excited to learn about business development and human resource management, but something creative
was missing, " she admits.
In 2004 Radnóczy established este'r partners with offices in Milan and Szentendre, Hungary, and has spent more
than 20 years tackling projects for private businesses, government agencies, and organizations responsible for historic
restorations, as well as in the residential, wellness, and hospitality realms.
For the Hotel Marina Port in Balatonkenese, Hungary, for example, este'r partners revitalized the lobby, bar, and
restaurant with ribbed walls and soft, rounded shapes that conjure Lake Balaton's reeds and pebbles. It's an earthy
contrast to Radnóczy and her team's approach to Budapest's Emerald Hotel & Suites, a vivid mélange of poison green velvet, marble, walnut, mirror, and
champagne hues. Just as upbeat is the all-day Zazie Bistro & Bar at the Budapest headquarters of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Group, designed
