Announcing the NEWH Structures of Hospitality Excellence Award
NEWH, with the support of ALIS DESIGN+ and Delta Faucets, continues to be at the forefront of recognizing excellence in the
hospitality industry. NEWH will honor construction companies for their exceptional methods, processes, and team management that
have contributed to the creation of signifi cant and outstanding hospitality renovations and new build structures worldwide with the
NEWH Structures of Hospitality Excellence (SOHE) Award. In honor of these award-winning companies, sponsors will donate funds for
scholarships given to students pursuing careers in construction.
In conjunction with this award, NEWH will be giving two scholarships: a $10,000 scholarship to be awarded to a four-year student of
architecture, construction management, civil or environmental engineering, or project management; and a $5,000 scholarship to be
awarded to a student pursuing a certifi cate or associate degree in construction, electricity, pipe trades, plumbing, HVAC, etc. from
a construction trade school. The fi rst scholarship is scheduled to be awarded during the ALIS DESIGN+ event at the JW Marriott Los
Angeles L.A. Live in January 2025.
Award Program Eligibility
The 2025 NEWH SOHE Award recognizes excellence in Hospitality Construction and the fi rm's commitment to NEWH.
Minimum Criteria
» Current membership: One person within the firm must be a current voting member in good standing with NEWH.
» New-build or renovation hospitality projects completed by firm within the 18-month period prior to nomination (June 2023 to December 2024)
Hospitality projects can include any one of the following types: Hotel, Casino, Bar, Restaurant, or Spa.
» Photo requirement: To qualify, the firm must provide a minimum of 3 (maximum of 6) photographs of the project submitted. Photographs
submitted must be a minimum 300 dpi resolution jpeg or tif file format.
» Three reference letters from submitted project.
» The company must have an accessible website for qualifi cation purposes.
NOTE: For purposes of this award, NEWH defi nes Hospitality as a property in which its facilities can be enjoyed by the general public. Properties such as multi-family, student
housing, senior living, or a medical-related facility where the facility is utilized mainly by members/patients only (even if a specifi c project area within these types of facilities is open
to the public) will not be considered.
Submission Narrative Must Include the Following:
» Your company's NEWH participation
» The project you are submitting and what makes it special
» The total scope of project that your company has
completed
» How your company has impacted the hospitality
construction industry
» Your company's outreach to the industry and/or community
through education and/or corporate giving
» Three references from the project
Nomination Process
All nominations should be completed online at newh.org/sohe-award. The NEWH, Inc. offi ce will forward to SOHE judging committee.

» The nomination form must be complete and all minimum eligibility criteria must be met to be considered.
Nominations are due no later than November 22nd, 2024

NEWH SOHE Award Nominations can be made as follows:
1. Any fi rm with a current NEWH Member can nominate
themselves.
2. Any NEWH member may nominate a construction fi rm.
3. Chapter members should encourage eligible fi rms (who
meet the minimum required criteria) to complete the
nomination form or assist them in the process.
