Green Voice in Action at BDNY

NEWH presented two of its signature Green Voice education sessions during BDNY. Biophilia-The Growing
Impact of Nature in Design saw Bill Browning, Terrapin Bright Green, and NEWH Green Voice chair Rachel
Berkin, sustainability product manager for Tarkett Hospitality, discuss how biophilic design provides a distinct
advantage over conventional design practices by recognizing the scientific evidence connecting human
biology and high-performance design.
The EVEN Hotels-Wellness Integral to Design delved into the design transformation of IHG Hotels and Resort's EVEN hotel brand, which weaves
wellbeing principles into the design approach. IHG's Stephanie Reed Stephan, Kristen Freeland, and Kavitha Iyer detailed the brand's holistic approach
to wellness-from color theory and biophilia to wellness on guests' terms.
NEWH also awarded the 2023 Green Voice Design Competition graduate and undergraduate $7,500 scholarship recipients who presented their
