What have you found to be most valuable about your NEWH involvement, both personally
and professionally?
I recently attended the NEWH Leadership Conference in Nashville, an event I felt really captured
the essence and spirit of the association and its mission. There's a vibrant sense of community and
connection that goes beyond just our business partnerships. For someone looking to start a career in the
hospitality world, this is a great place to do it. When I decided to make a career change two years ago, I
wanted to find an industry where I could find both purpose and passion. Joining NEWH and volunteering
on the board has given me that opportunity.
What would surprise people about you?
If I could choose any job, I'd be a professional stunt driver!

What would people be interested to know about your company?
At Tarkett, we believe flooring always has value. Tarkett is working towards 100 percent recyclability. We
partner with our customers to take back and repurpose old flooring through our ReStart® program. Since
2010 we've collected 112,000 tons.
Where do you find inspiration, both inside and outside the industry?
Everyone has a unique story, and I've always enjoyed connecting with people and learning about their
lives. Whether you're talking to someone in line to get coffee, at the bar before dinner, or-heaven
forbid-in the seat next to you on a flight, you never know what you'll learn or what connections will come
your way. It's these relationships, however fleeting, that often result in inspiration, new ideas, or even just
moments of thinking about things in a different way.
Why do you recommend people get involved with NEWH?
Networking is critical in most industries and careers and networking with a purpose (like raising money
for scholarships) only enhances that experience. Getting involved in this manner allows you to make an
impact on younger generations and strengthen their relationships within the hospitality industry.
What is your proudest recent NEWH accomplishment?
Last year, I partnered with a local designer, Alicia Husband from the RBA Group, to host a hotel and
restaurant tour. It was the first large event our region had held since Covid, and I was a bit nervous about
turnout. Despite my hesitation, we had great sponsorship partners and interest from the local design
community. The event was a success. It was inspiring to hear members and non-members talk about
the value they found from the tour experience. That response was the energy we needed to motivate
our board to continue to provide opportunities for industry professionals to network and grow while
supporting the scholarship mission.
When you aren't working or at an NEWH event, where can we find you?
You can find me traveling with my husband or spending time with our friends and our two poodles. The
North Carolina mountains are our second home, and we go there as much as possible. I'm also a huge
foodie, so I appreciate how the hospitality industry provides the perfect opportunity to explore and
experience beautiful restaurants and delicious food. My friends would tell you I'm talented in the kitchen,
but you won't find a cookbook from me; there is a reason I don't bake! I'm also a workout enthusiast and
love spending time in the gym or hiking in the mountains. ❙❘❚
