CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS
Northwest
The chapter is thrilled to reflect on an exceptional 2024, a year defined by growth, community engagement, and impactful programming. From hosting an NEWH Regional
Tradeshow in Seattle to elevating the chapter's off erings, the year was one of transformation and achievement.
The highlight of the year was the Savor Fundraising Gala, held in Seattle at the Inn at Washington Athletic Club in October. The event not only brought together 145 attendees in
celebration of hospitality and design but also marked a fundraising milestone, raising over $44,000, surpassing last year's total by 150 percent and setting a new chapter record.
The funds enabled it to award five scholarships in all areas of hospitality, totaling $40,000, supporting the next generation of industry leaders.
This special evening also gave us the honor of presenting the Joyce Johnson Award of Excellence to Katy Clark. Katy has dedicated over 10 years of volunteer service on the
NEWH Northwest board, including two consecutive years as chapter president during the uncertainty and chaos of 2020 and 2021. Katy was the glue that held the chapter
together, a cheerleader motivating us onward, and a mentor reminding us to be kind to ourselves-because of her steadfast leadership, our chapter is stronger than ever. It was a
privilege to recognize her extraordinary service.
The chapter's eff orts to enhance programming and community engagement have been met with resounding success. Attendance at events has grown significantly, and the
chapter remains committed to fostering connections, supporting education, and continuing to serve as a dynamic force in the hospitality and design communities. Thank you to
everyone who contributed to making 2024 a record-breaking year!
