Ring Founder Siminoff Steps Down as
CEO, Former Discord COO Takes Reins
▶ HAWTHORNE, Calif. - Ring
founder Jamie Siminoff, whose company
was acquired by Amazon for $1
billion five years ago, has decided to
forgo his CEO title and shift to the
role of chief inventor, he posted in a
blog on the Ring website March 1.
In making that announcement,
Siminoff added that Elizabeth (Liz)
Hamren would be joining the company
as its new CEO effective March
22. Hamren comes to Amazon Ring
having most recently served as COO
at Discord.
a video doorbell that spurred what's
become an important category in the
smart home and smart security sectors.
The company's breadth of products
has since expanded to include indoor
and outdoor surveillance cameras,
lighting, alarms and more. It has
gained major traction in the professional
custom integration
Liz Hamren takes over for Jamie Siminoff, whose
new title will be chief inventor.

devices and subscription services, building
and launching some of the most innovative
and beloved consumer products from Oculus
to Xbox and more, " Siminoff notes.

ago, Ring has become a mainstream disruptor
in the doorbell space, launching
ACRE Completes PremiSys Transaction
▶ LAS VEGAS - Holding company ACRE, a global provider of
security systems, has completed its acquisition of the PremiSys
software and hardware portfolio and assets from IDenticard Systems.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
PremiSys' technologies enable organizations to self-manage
door access, view integrated video and lockdown facilities. The
acquisition also extends opportunities for ACRE in healthcare,
education, datacenters and senior-living facilities, ACRE reports.
" Since its inception, ACRE's overarching goal has been to
consolidate access control and customers under one umbrella, "
says Darren Learmonth, CTO, ACRE. " This acquisition
represents another important step in ACRE's transformation,
solidifying the company as the leader in the rapidly growing
access control market. "
The acquisition continues recent acquisitive growth for
ACRE: In 2021, it purchased Feenics and Matrix to address
Cloud and enterprise segments, then added SISCO to its
brands in 2022. ACRE employs 500+ employees in more than
25 countries.
