IPVideo Corp. Monitors School Environment
In conjunction with HALO Cloud, the sensor
IPVideo Corp. reseller Southwestern Communications
was approached by Murray
County Schools in Georgia for a health and
safety solution to help tackle youth vaping
and address air quality in their return to
school. They wanted a cost-effective device
that would protect students' health and their
privacy. The original intention was to look at
multiple devices to tackle each need; however,
with IPVideo's HALO device, they were able to
address both in an economical and technically
advanced way.
HALO 2.5, in conjunction with HALO Cloud,
provides a dashboard displaying all vaping, air
quality and health index events, current and
historical, and empowers Murray staff to provide
an effective response to any monitoring
points. This reporting capability allows Murray
school administrators to provide real-time
proof of the environment's health and alleviate
concerns of their staff, students and community,
according to the company.

Genetec Drives Vaccine Distribution
The University of Arizona had one goal in
mind; to maximize the number of COVID-19
vaccines administered with its drive-thru
multilane setup, in an efficient, safe and measurable
manner, while staffing appropriately
to how many cars were coming through on
average during the days of the week.
Initially, University of Arizona volunteers
gathered data by asking drivers to send text
messages as soon as they entered and exited
the vaccine point of distribution (POD). While
some people agreed, this method only tracked
a small percentage of all vehicles and not
everyone would remember to send the text
messages. The school also considered hiring
personnel to monitor traffic and jot down vehicle
entry and exit times. Not only would this be
costly, but also the team wondered if they could
fully trust the data.
Eventually, the University of Arizona turned
to Genetec and systems integrator Route1 for

a more advanced and efficient solution. The
core of the project used Genetec's Security
Center to manage data gathered from Genetec's
AutoVu SharpV ALPR system. So, when
someone drives through the main entrance
of the POD, an AutoVu ALPR SharpV camera
captured a timestamp of the vehicle. Two
more cameras captured the vehicle entering
and exiting the vaccination tunnel, and then
a final camera tracked the vehicle leaving the
site. This allows for four unique timestamps on
every vehicle that comes through the vaccination
POD.
AutoVu allowed the University of Arizona
to see exactly how long it's taking vehicles to
get through the POD and for people to get
vaccinated, and then identify what it could
do to get them through faster. It also let the
school examine trends so it could compare
what's happening right now to yesterday, or
the current and previous week. SSI
