SIA Welcomes Pair to
Government Relations Team
SILVER SPRING, Md.
- Th e Security Industry
Association
(SIA)
Russell
has named Patrick Russell
as its new associate
director of government
Williams
relations and Colby
Williams as its new senior
manager of government
relations.
In these roles, Russell
and Williams will join
SIA Senior Director of Government
Relations Jake Parker in helping the association
address a growing number of
public policy issues aff ecting the industry,
according to an announcement.
Russell comes to SIA with 15 years of
experience working in politics and policy.
His professional experience includes
state-level and federal-level advocacy
across many diff erent sectors - including
health care, education, fi nancial services
- and association management.
In his most recent role at ACA International,
Russell was responsible for the
management of federal advocacy eff orts
as well as oversight and execution of
ACPAC, ACA International's political action
committee. He holds an undergraduate
degree in international studies from
Indiana University.
Williams joins SIA with seven years of
experience in public policy and government
aff airs for various statewide elected
offi cials, nonprofi ts and campaigns as
well as several years of experience teaching
high school government and history.
Williams holds an undergraduate degree
in political science and a postgraduate
degree in education and public policy
from Mississippi State University, as well
as an MBA from Mississippi College.

team and am looking forward to applying
my experience in public policy and government
aff airs to best represent SIA and
its member companies, " says Williams.
Intel's Hanson Honored by
SIA Women in Security Forum

- Th e Security Industry
Association (SIA) has
named Kasia Hanson,
global director - video,
safety and security -
Network and Edge Group at Intel Corp.,
as the 2022 recipient of the SIA Progress
Award, an honor presented by SIA's Women
in Security Forum (WISF) celebrating
individuals who pave the way to success
for women in the security industry. SIA
presented Hanson with the award during
the 2022 SIA Honors Night reception.
Hanson, who also serves as SIA's WISF
chair, leads Intel's global video, safety and
security sales for the company's Network
and Edge Group. Her team drives technology
design, go-to-market and ecosystem
orchestration strategies that drive revenue

and adoption of artifi cial intelligence and
edge technologies across the security industry,
according to the announcement.
She is a 22-year veteran of Intel with
deep technology expertise across the Internet
of Th ings, AI, physical security and
cybersecurity, data center and storage.
Additionally, Hanson is a Distinguished
Fellow for the Innovation Institute for Fan
Experience and was named the No. 3 IFSEC
Global Security Infl uencer in 2021.
