▶ DALLAS - A former ADT home
security technician was sentenced to 52
months in federal prison for repeatedly
hacking into customers' video feeds. Telesforo
Aviles, 35, pleaded guilty to computer
fraud in January. He was sentenced
June 10 by U.S. District Judge Brantley
Starr for the Northern District of Texas.
" This deliberate and calculated invasion
of privacy is arguably more harmful
than if I had installed no security system
and my house had been burglarized, " a
female victim told the court in an impact
statement. " This sick and corrupt individual's
actions will have a lasting emotional
and mental toll on me. "

to customers' ADT Pulse accounts, giving
himself real-time access to the video
feeds from their homes. In some instances,
he claimed he needed to add himself
temporarily to " test " the system; in other
instances, he added himself without their
knowledge.
Aviles took note of which homes had
attractive women, then repeatedly logged
into these customers' accounts in order
to view their footage for sexual gratification,
he admits. Plea papers indicate he
watched numerous videos of naked women
and couples engaging in sexual activity
inside their homes.

▶ CHANTILLY, Va. - Corbett Technology Solutions (CTSI), a portfolio
company of Wind Point Partners, has acquired DavEd Fire
Systems, a provider of fire alarm and security system design, integration,
maintenance and managed services. Terms of the transaction
were not disclosed.
Founded in 1982, DavEd provides its solutions and services
throughout the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas. The
company partners with customers across all fire system needs,
from design through implementation, as well as 24/7 emergency
service and maintenance.
