New Sonitrol Gunshot Detection
Implemented at Ind. High School
▶ INDIANAPOLIS - Sonitrol has
launched a gunshot detection solution,
which the company explains is powered
by 3xLogic, and it identifies the firing of
a gun using concussive ultrasonic force
recognition technologies.
According to Sonitrol, the use of ultrasonic
force recognition technologies
facilitates improved accuracy over microphone-based
technologies to reduce false
alarms. The company says its gunshot detection
solution is easy to install and integrates
seamlessly into its verified electronic
security systems portfolio.
As a real-world implementation example
of the new technology, the company
cites an installation of its gunshot detection
technology at Gibson Southern High
School in Fort Branch, Ind., providing a
fast-acting emergency response system for
the school of 700 students.
Sonitrol notes the school also needed a
security system for after-hours intrusion
protection, along with access control and
local authorities important data they otherwise
wouldn't have had.

▶ SAN FRANCISCO - Dedrone, a designer and manufacturer
of counter-drone systems, has debuted its first portable detection
unit, DedroneRapidResponse.
Dedrone is said to detect, identify, locate and analyze nearly
300 drone types. The new solution offers Dedrone's AI-powered
technology in a mobile platform attached to a tower,
anywhere from 30-50 feet high, that can be towed and maneuvered
on a trailer using an SUV or truck.
DedroneRapidResponse, available for use around the
world, provides critical capability to ensure public safety at
large events including sports, parades, concerts, large gatherings,
crime scenes, police activity and more, according to the
company.
Using Cloud-enabled software, DedroneRapidResponse pinpoints
the drone, providing insights into its load and the pilot's
location as soon as a drone is turned on. The tower is said to
be deployable in under 30 minutes and offers a range of 5-kilometer
detection through a multilayered solution with dual
cameras to track multiple drones simultaneously. Additionally,

to install one unit in the school's front entryway,

the academic hall. "
As Sonitrol describes the solution, rather
than employing microphones, infrared
sensors or complex analytics, the self-contained
device relies on affordable, simple
concussive force recognition sensors.
When a gun is fired, the bullet creates a
shockwave as it exits the barrel of the gun
and travels through the air. This shockwave
creates a unique concussive force that the
Gunshot Detection solution can detect,
reducing the potential for false activations
from other loud noises.
Dedrone can network multiple trailers to deliver optimal drone
security for large public safety events, the company states.

AI Expands U.S. Operations

technology, announces the expansion of its U.S. operations.

is expanding its global footprint among enterprise clients
and government agencies in sectors including aviation, law

company. Founded in 2019 by a group of AI experts and entrepreneurs,
Corsight AI is said to provide the most ethical facial
recognition technology for highly challenging conditions.
Established as a subsidiary of the Cortica Group, which holds
250+ patents for its autonomous AI technology, Corsight is the
result of a $70 million spinoff R&D program developed over 13
years. Corsight AI's expansion is said to be driven by demand
for the company's core product, Fortify, which detects faces
with masks on and achieves accuracy rates in nearly complete
darkness, the company states.
