was installed, allowing customers to access the
safe deposit box area without the involvement
of placing their hand in a palm reader.
" Th e success of Fulton Bank headquarters'
self-serve safety deposit box system prompted
Securitas Technology to install the solution
in 20 other Fulton Bank fi nancial centers
throughout the Northeast, " adds Byerly. " In the
unpredictable world of fi nancial institutions
and their high-security challenges, Securitas
Technology determined that, in addition to the
above, multiple innovative technologies would
create a comprehensive and secure solution. "
Sweetening the Solution
At the beginning of the installation process,
Fulton Bank headquarters, driven by the pandemic,
was operating at 2%-3% occupancy,
which increased the concern unauthorized individuals
could access the six-story building.
Th e change in operating hours, and reduction
in building occupancy led Fulton Bank to
change its manned guarding hours.
To address this concern, Securitas Technology
leveraged its client's existing surveillance
video system creating a VPN tunnel to the
Securitas Remote Guarding Center so Fulton
Bank could have remote guarding after hours
or when the building was at reduced capacity.
Th is was a key element in order to start the
complete integration.
" Starting with the initial assessment process,
all stakeholders were involved to ensure
every aspect of Fulton Bank's needs was discussed
and considered, " Byerly states. " Direct
communication throughout the entire process
was imperative to the ultimate success of the
integration. Securitas Technology was tasked
with helping develop a security plan that allows
crucial security measures to be upheld
during the entire installation process. "
With multiple standalone systems integrated
into one access control system, strategic
coordination among all parties was critical.
Once every part of the phased installation approach
was completed at Fulton Bank headquarters,
the turnstiles, surveillance video system
and alarm system were all integrated into
the Lenel access control system.

FULTON BANK HEADQUARTERS SYSTEMS OVERVIEW
▶ Access Control: Securitas
Technology installed
a six-door LenelS2 prefabricated
kit. This included
six Bluetooth card readers,
six request-to-exit motion
detectors, seven door position
switches and one shut switch
to unlock two diff erent entrances.
Six additional doors
were integrated into the building
access control system.
▶ Turnstiles: To provide
Fulton Bank with a secure
and seamless touchless lobby
experience, fi ve lanes of Fastlane
Glassgate 150 were installed.
These elegant, discreet
turnstiles were equipped with
MorphoWave, a contactless
fi ngerprint scanner that scans
and verifi es four fi ngerprints
in less than one second and
is well suited for high-traffi
c access points. Users are
positively identifi ed with a
touchless wave of the hand,
providing user convenience
and allowing employees to
avoid queues and congestion
in the lobby.
▶ Video System: Verint
EdgeVR (Model E-300T) is
an enterprise-class, IP-based
NVR designed for large-scale,
geographically distributed
areas. Thirty cameras were
installed at Fulton Bank (in
addition to small upgrades
the past fi ve-six years),
including nine Hanwha 360
cameras, nine Verint IP Box
cameras and 12 Verint Dome
cameras. One IP public
view monitor with a built-in
camera, one IP ATM transaction
camera and one Verint
Exterior IP Dome camera
were also installed.
▶ Alarm System: As with
many fi nancial institutions,
alarm systems are imperative
to the security and safety
of employees and customers.
Securitas Technology
installed one DMP wireless
receiver and zone expander,
and 16 wireless holdup buttons
throughout the fi nancial
center. There is also a master
alarm for onsite guarding
that goes directly to Securitas'
TMA Five Diamond Alarm
Monitoring Center.
▶ Emergency Communications:
A dozen Talkaphone
Area of Rescue call stations
were installed and integrated
into a Talkaphone AOR
Command unit located at the
guard desk, which included
providing and pulling old
cables. The 12 stations were
installed in two separate
stair towers on the south
and northeast sides of the
building, as well as two boxes
per fl oor for six fl oors. Redundant
backup goes directly
to Securitas Technology's
TMA Five Diamond Alarm
Monitoring Center.
