▶ SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - DMP has released
the XT30 and XT50 alarm panels
that are approved FirstNet Ready. FirstNet
is built with AT&T in a public-private
partnership with the First Responder
Network Authority, the only nationwide,
high-speed broadband communications
platform that is dedicated to and purpose-built
specifically for first responders
and the extended public safety community.
Last fall, DMP released its FirstNet
Ready Cellular Communicator, and the
manufacturer's flagship control panel, the
XR Series, became one of the first to be approved
for use on FirstNet. Now, DMP's
XT Series control panels have also met the
standards for supporting the critical operational
needs of public safety agencies and
users who need tools that are highly secure,
resilient, scalable and available when

can qualify for FirstNet extended primary
service for the transmission of public safety
related alarms. This gives them the advantage
of using Band 14 - the nationwide,
high-quality spectrum set aside by the federal
government specifically for FirstNet.
The FirstNet LTE network is said to be
faster than any commercial LTE network.
According to the FCC, the location of
the 700MHz band also gives it excellent
propagation characteristics. This allows the
700MHz signals to penetrate buildings and
walls more easily and to cover larger geographic
areas with less infrastructure (relative
to frequencies in higher bands).

Launches Next-Gen LED Appliances for
Commercial Buildings
▶ DUBLIN - Eaton has introduced Eluxa, the next generation of
Wheelock LED notification devices for fire alarm signaling and
mass notification. Designed for use in commercial buildings, Eaton's
latest technology is billed as providing the industry's lowest
current draw over the full candela range, thereby reducing installation
costs, materials and overall fire alarm system costs.
With Eluxa, Eaton provides both low- and high-candela settings
in one device, reducing inventory and streamlining installation, according
to a press release. The Eluxa technology is said to provide
customers a complete indoor solution that includes strobes, horn
strobes, horns, speakers, speaker strobes, low-frequency sounders
and sounder strobes for both ceiling and wall-mount applications.
In addition to six candela settings, the appliances feature three
horn patterns (continuous, T3, T3/T4) in a single device, reducing
customers' inventory and providing industry-first fire alarm and
CO notification over the same two wires, the press release states.
The Wheelock Eluxa product line is UL/ULC Listed as compatible
with all fire alarm control panels and accessories that are
compatible with the manufacturer's RSS strobe-based products.
The listing also includes the ability to install the Eluxa strobes in
the same notification zone and field of view with any Wheelock
Exceder LED3 or RSS strobe models.

Verification from The Monitoring Association
(TMA) and enter into a FirstNet

American Alarm and Communications
Acquires Phoenix Security
▶ ARLINGTON, Mass. - American Alarm and Communications,
based here, has acquired Phoenix Security Systems of Wilmington,
Mass., for undisclosed terms. Phoenix Security provides intrusion,
access control, fire alarm and video surveillance systems
and services to more than 800 businesses and homes, primarily
in the metropolitan Boston and South Shore areas.
" We've been friendly competitors for a long time, and we believe
that uniting our two companies is a great step forward for
both, and more importantly, for the customers we serve, " says
Louis Sampson, COO and co-owner of American Alarm.
Phoenix Security was established in 2007 by Brad White, who
built a significant portfolio of residential and commercial customers,
including several multisite corporate accounts. The company
grew primarily through referrals because of their excellent
reputation for quality systems and service, according to an announcement.
All
Phoenix employees, including White, are now full-time
American Alarm employees and will continue their efforts serving
customers. The monitoring of former Phoenix Security customer
locations has been transferred to American Alarm's company-owned
and operated UL Listed and Five Diamond-certified
monitoring center, located in Arlington, Mass.
