booming - its

of 55 countries in Europe. It's
a response to the demands of
modern society, says GP and
yoga instructor Dr Shiv

FEEL THE HEAT
Forget meeting mates
at the pub, community
sauna baths inspired
by the Scandinavian
love of hot and cold
contrast therapy are
the go-to hangouts.
The heated water
boosts circulation and
targets pain, then a
plunge into cold water
reduces inflammation.

it's about bringing

In Liverpool, the
UK's first floating

has recently opened

THE WILD SIDE
There's a reason
health professionals
refer to walking in
nature as the 'green
prescription'. As
Dr Shiv explains:
" Despite digitally
being more connected,
people are lonelier.
We can remedy this
by harnessing the
therapeutic effects of
nature. This takes us
out of the thinking
mind, where we can
spend so much time,
and back into the
world around us. "
The Global Wellness
Summit identified
'epic walks' based
on the concept of
pilgrimages as a
big trend for 2025,
while Menspedition
Pilgrimages is mixing
mountain hiking
with workshops and
meditation for men.
