differs from natural menopause and requires a unique

The side effects of chemical or surgically
induced menopause are often more
severe than those experienced in natural
menopause, due to a rapid decrease in
hormones as opposed to a gradual reduction.
Over 91% of breast cancer patients
experience side effects with hormonal
therapy - and because of these side effects,
33% will discontinue treatment early.
Breast cancer patients often experience
menopausal symptoms because of their
treatment. These symptoms can include
hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness
and mood changes. These symptoms can
be challenging to manage, but there are
several strategies that can help alleviate
them. As well as medical intervention, there
are holistic strategies that can help, such as
lifestyle modification, exercise, meditation and
other complementary therapies.
