AerinX and Orca are Working Together on
the High-Tech Maintenance of Air Taxis
Orca, the developer of an eVTOL vehicle, and AerinX have concluded a cooperation
agreement, in accordance with which the two companies will jointly examine
and develop high-tech maintenance processes.
Big city traffic is facing ever-greater
challenges all over the world due
to the rapid increase of population
and vehicles circulating in traffic.
One of the possible solutions to the
almost unbearable traffic jams and
environmental pollution lies in the
development of air taxis.
Numerous development projects
are currently under way all over
the world. The estimated size of the
industry in 2020 could reach USD 45 billion, while experts forecast a global market
of USD 97 billion for 2027.
The Hungarian Orca entered the international competition with its self-developed
aeroplane, called eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing), the prime aim of
which is to revolutionise air rescue. This aeroplane is light, fast and electric, meaning
that there are no polluting emissions. Thanks to all these, both purchase and
maintenance costs are lower than those of the gas turbine choppers being used
in air rescue at present.
Orca and AerinX have concluded a cooperation agreement, under which joint
examination and development of high-tech maintenance processes of the eVTOL
air vehicles will be performed by the two companies.

iAero Thrust Chosen by Southwest
Airlines for Engine MRO and Test Services
iAero Thrust, a leading engine maintenance,
repair and overhaul (MRO) and test
provider focused on the CFM56 engine
line and one of the companies within the
iAero Group aviation investment platform,
has signed an MRO services agreement
with Southwest Airlines, a leading U.S.
passenger airline operating over 700
Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) aircraft.
The new arrangement includes iAero
Thrust providing on-demand hospital
repair, on-wing support, and test services over the next three years
supporting Southwest Airline's Boeing 737-700 NG fleet engine maintenance
operations across their network.

Receives ISO EN 9110:2018
Certification to Maintain
CFM Family Engines
FL Technics Engine Services has recently received
ISO EN 9110:2018 approval, certifying teams' operations
to serve CFM family engines at full scale, including
repair, replacement, installation, rectification,
and preservation services.
Provided at the FL Technics base maintenance and
hub painting location, such service creates a unique
value for aviation operators and lessors to leverage benefits,
with an opportunity to align business interests.
Would it be a full-scale aircraft remarketing project,
or a partial asset management case.
Lithuania-based quick-turn engine shop has proven
its capabilities to deliver projects, ranging from minor
repairs to through-out inspections and overhaul work .

Wichita Aero Club's Ashley Bowen
Cook Will Begin Term as Board
Chair at Annual Trophy Gala
When the Wichita Aero Club
hosted its 11th WAC Trophy Gala
on Saturday evening, January 29,
2022, it inaugurated a new board
chair - the first female to lead the
aviation industry organization -
Ashley Bowen Cook. She succeeds
John O'Leary, vice president and
general manager of Airbus Americas Engineering, as
chairman. As immediate past chairman, O'Leary will
remain an active member of the WAC Board and will
serve as head of its Education Committee.
Currently a vice president at Greteman Group in
Wichita, she brings two decades of professional experience
to her new role and nearly two decades of aviation
exposure before that. Growing up as the daughter of
acclaimed aviation photographer Paul Bowen, she
developed a well-founded appreciation for the aerospace
business while still a youngster.
