Serviceable part inventory has tripled, and sales have increased
more than 2,000% since 2019, when Chelsea Pearse began managing
Duncan Aviation's Engine Parts Reclamation Program in
Lincoln, Nebraska. Through the TFE731 parts reclamation program,
75 percent of each engine's parts are reclaimed and recycled.
Using reclaimed parts today is top of mind. Duncan Aviation
relies more heavily on reclaimed parts for engine repairs, which
have provided lower cost options. And, Pearse says, " Used parts
now are a more valuable asset than they've ever been. " Not waiting
for new parts to come in, especially during the supply chain
disruptions that came after 2019, also has meant less downtime.
Pearse started working at Duncan Aviation, after serving five
years in the United States Marine Corps working on the KC-130J.

Robert E. George Jr.

Robert George manages large, complex projects while keeping a
close eye on the details within the operation.
George is responsible for overseeing eight lines of maintenance
and nine managers, who oversee more than 450 technicians.
According to George, he has " a lead by example, team first
mentality, " and said the focus is maintaining safety, quality and
compliance but also on employees and employee morale.
While obtaining his Airframe & Powerplant license through the
National Aviation Academy in Florida, George worked at an FBO.
With his A&P, he got a position at Pemco World Air Services, now
Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services, as a technician
performing heavy maintenance on commercial jet aircraft. He
advanced to lead technician, production supervisor, production
manager and director of maintenance in Tampa.

Dylan Trochim

Favorite thing about aviation: Community, challenging,
rewarding.
A year after Dylan Trochim joined Duncan Aviation's Textron
team in Provo, Utah, as lead technician, the team increased the
work it performed by 96% and its ELR (effective labor rate) by 36%.
During that time, the Textron team added Embraer aircraft to
their core work, and Trochim became the Textron/Embraer team
leader in Provo. The next year (2022), the team increased its work
completed by an additional 38%. Since Trochim has been the team
leader, the team's actual/standard time for quoted work dropped
from 128% to 109%, even with the team's additional workload.
As the administrator for the Duncan Aviation Provo Engine
Run and Taxi Program, Trochim tracks who is run qualified. He
teaches the initial course, and when he noticed team members
in the cockpit struggling with talking on radios during test runs,
he started a class on how to safely monitor and talk on the radios
and interact with air traffic control.

Austin T. Newby

Favorite thing about aviation: The ability for growth.
After leaving the military in 2016, Austin Newby was unsure of
what to do. His stepfather, Richard Rawling, began taking Newby
with him to work on his planes. Here, Newby fell in love with
working on aircraft.
" He's pretty much the biggest reason I got into aviation. So if
it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be here where I'm at right
now, " Newby said.
Newby would go on to earn his A&P, while also apprenticing
on Part 135 and Part 91 aircraft. Recently, Newby has moved
from general aviation to commercial operations, performing line
maintenance for United Airlines.
" I've always wanted to get here. I've just progressed through
the small aircraft and started to get higher up into the private
sector, private jets, and this is just where I've been aiming to go
since I started in aviation, " Newby said.
