Pennsylvania Leaders Break Ground on
Mid-Atlantic Opportunity Park
Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of a transformative
project for the Southern Alleghenies region: a new aviation maintenance,
repair and services hub called the Mid-Atlantic Opportunity Park. The park will
be built as a nearly 130-acre extension to the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria
County Airport (JST) and will be anchored by a 100,000-square-foot aviation
maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility, with additional retail space
for parts suppliers, paint shops and distribution facilities. The Opportunity
Park is set to open fall 2024 and is expected to create hundreds of high-paying
jobs. U.S. Congressman Glenn " GT " Thompson said, " This will solidify the area's
role as a prime destination in the aviation sector and prove to be a long-term
economic driver for the community. " The developer of the park, Cambrian
Hills Development Group, is also the owner of Nulton Aviation Services, which
operates a charter service at JST. Cambrian's CEO, Dr. Larry Nulton, has been
actively engaged in workforce development initiatives for the region to attract
industry and meet national industry growth.

Duncan Aviation has purchased
the intellectual property,
capabilities and equipment for
the FMG4400D Flash Measuring
Gun from DeVore Aviation
Corporation, assuming all
manufacturing, calibrations, repair
and technical support of the FMG4400D Program. The FMG4400D
flash measuring gun is a handheld, digital measuring instrument
manufactured to meet FAA requirements to test the intensity levels
of an aircraft's strobe and anti-collision light systems as a part of
a program for continued airworthiness and maintenance. " Duncan
Aviation is a company with high standards and is well known for
quality and innovation, " said Ruth Mestas, accounting manager
at DeVore Aviation. " The FMG Program is in good hands. " The
FMG4400D Program is a new line of business for Duncan Aviation.

SkyWest Airlines First North
American Operator to License
Jet Engine Cleaning System,
GE's 360 Foam Wash
GE Aerospace has awarded SkyWest Airlines, a
subsidiary of SkyWest Inc., a technical license
to use GE's 360 Foam Wash system on its CF34
aircraft engines. That makes SkyWest the first
North American operator to license the patented
engine cleaning system. " We're excited about GE
Aerospace's latest engine wash technology that will
help us to advance our carbon-reduction goals as
well as enhance our engine performance across
our fleet, " said Joe Sigg, SkyWest's vice president of
maintenance. GE's 360 Foam Wash is an alternative
to water wash for engine maintenance. It can help
restore engine performance, leading to reduced fuel
consumption and improved time on wing.
