Reno-Tahoe Airport CEO Marily Mora to Retire
June 30
President/CEO Marily Mora announced
she will retire from the Reno-Tahoe
Airport Authority June 30.
Mora helped lead an a ir ser v ice
renaissance since she was named CEO in
July, 2013. During the economic downturn
and before her hiring, Reno lost 36 percent
of its f lights. Over the past six years, Mora
has rebuilt the air service schedule. Major
f lights added during her tenure include
JetBlue to New York, Volaris to Guadalajara, Mexico
and daily service to Atlanta.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport Completes
Apron Reconstruction Project
The Gerald R. Ford International
Airport (GRR) completed its $30
million apron reconstruction project
which concluded after almost two years of construction.
The project repaired the ter m inal apron. The
construction was completed in seven phases over the course
of two years to allow for adequate gate space for air carriers.

The overall construction program consisted of six
projects including the construction of a new duct bank
for Houston Airport System and Federal Aviation
Administration communications; site demolition of several
existing structures; relocation of the airport's Automated
Surface Observing System (ASOS); relocation of two
navigation aids; construction of a 20-acre stormwater
management facility for f lood control and ultimately the
construction of the hangar.

Los Angeles World Airports Names Tatiana
Starostina Chief Financial Officer
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA)
announced Tatiana Starostina has been
named chief f inancial off icer. Starostina
began the role Jan. 21, and replaced Ryan
Yakubik, who left LAWA in late 2019 for a
position in the private sector.
"Tatiana Starostina is a well-established
and highly regarded aviation f inance
executive and we are excited to welcome
her to Los Angeles World Airports," said
Justin Erbacci, interim chief executive officer, LAWA. "Ms.
Starostina brings a strong reputation and high credibility, as
well as significant experience, expertise and leadership skills
to the CFO position - which will help LAWA continue
to lead the way for strategic financing of our projects and
exemplary credit ratings for our airports."

Cargo Maintenance Hangar Opens at Cincinnati/
Northern Kentucky International Airport
FEAM Aero opened its new hangar at Cincinnati/
Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
The facility opening creates the need for more than
100 high-paying aircraft mechanic jobs and supports
the growing global logistics network at the airport.
Lynxs Group developed the eight-acre site for
FEAM Aero who operates the hangar, which can
accommodate wide body aircraft for maintenance,
repair and overhaul.

Spirit Airlines Speeds Up Trips at LaGuardia
Spirit Airlines unveiled an automated and
expedited self-bag drop for processing
checked luggage at its ticket counter at
LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
The new self-bag drop for checked luggage
employs a two-step approach. Guests start by printing a
bag tag at a kiosk following check-in. Once the bag is
tagged, guests go to the machine and scan their boarding
pass to initiate the process. The bag is measured, weighed,
scanned to ensure that it's the correct size and weight and
guests watch as the bag is automatically fed into the baggage
handling system to be routed for f light.

McCarthy Completes Southwest Airlines Hangar
at William P. Hobby Airport
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. recently completed
construction of the Southwest Airlines Technical
Operations Maintenance Hangar
project at William P. Hobby Airport
(HOU) in Houston. The new hangar
houses up to six 737 aircraft and has
paved aircraft parking areas, aircraft
wash facilities, taxiway connections,
parking and loading docks.

HNTB Corp. is growing in Miami to address the area's
increasing aviation needs. The firm hired Maria Mendoza,
