CNH Industrial knows how to tackle snowy pavements during the winter season.
NO WINTER lasts forever even though it may feel like
it. Even when it ends, airports keep thinking about
how they are going to survive the wrath of winter
in the upcoming year. Steiger Tractors are a tool that
can help you with your snow removal purposes.
"The tractors can be used to remove
snow properly, spray and even mow
if needed," Clinton Jenkins, strategic
accounts manager North America,
CNH Industrial said.
The Steiger Tractor drivetrain and
exterior performance are developed
with high horsepower requirements,
a strong frame and other essential
components that have been updated
over decades leading to a polished
execution.
"These units can push much more
snow now, especially when equipped
with a 30' snow blade," Jenkins said.
These snow blades are not just
used for clearing ramps, but serve
as ground maintenance tools as well,
Jenkins noted. Literal tons of snow are
no match for these tractors.
"The 540 models and smaller offer
the CVXDrive transmission which
offers inf inite forward and reverse
speed control, which is something that
is perfect for snow removal," Jenkin
said. "The Steiger Tractors are also
available in Quadtrac and wheeled
configurations featuring heavy-duty
axles with up to a 66,000-pound
capacity operating at a slower speed,
more common with the wheel loaders."
The operation center inside the
cab houses a touch screen computer
capable of monitoring all functions
and even steering the tractor with
autogudiance.
"The cab is state of the art, has
supporting heated leather seats, sound
insulation, heat, air conditioning and
other comforts that rival the finest
luxury car," Jenkins described. "CNH
Industrial also has a new cab coming
this fall for their product line that
follows updates on the state-of-theart cab and maximizes telematics and
has precision applications."
The Steiger Tractor lineup has
seven different models to choose from.
"The tractors range in horsepower
from 370 up to 620 along with two
versions such as wheeled and track
systems," Jenkins noted.
The Steiger Tractors use diesel fuel,
with DEF. Snow type and depth will
also dictate how much fuel is being

used. Snow type will either increase
or decrease time needed to move it.
"Fuel consumption is about 5-10
gallons per hour plowing snow,"
Jenkins said. "The Steiger Tractor has
a 350 gallons tank, so it will run over
24 hours before needing refueling."
The tractors are primarily used
for proper snow removal, but can also
be utilized when it is not the winter
season. Along with lawn maintenance,
such as mowing or spraying, the
Steiger Tractor can be utilized in the
variety way's in all four seasons.
"With no sur face limitations
whatsoever, there are great alternative
to utilize the product year-round,"
Jenkins added. "All models can be
equipped with a PTO and can be used
with wide area mowing equipment for
all-seasons adaptability."
Plow blades are commonly order
with the tractors, Jenkins noted. There
are a range of attachments that can
also be used with the Steiger Tractors.
A tillage, seeders, plows, mowers,
sprayers and many more.
"Steiger Tractors are built for
continuous 24/7 operation for all
four seasons maximizing return on
investment and productivity of the
environment," Jenkins said.
A Steiger Tractor can go 600 hours
before the oil needs to be changed as
well as the filters. The units will span a
lifetime of 15,000-20,000 hours before
trading may be considered.
Steiger Tractors are being used
in agriculture, construction and the
North and South Poles for exploration.
