TSA Tests Self-Service
Screening at LAS
Initially intended for TSA Pre-Check
passengers, a new self-screening system at
Harry Reid International Airport offers
travelers a security checkpoint experience
that lets them go at their own pace.
The new system is currently being
tested at the TSA Innovation Checkpoint
in Terminal 3.

of the most critical decarbonization pathways available, which
will replace emissions associated with facilities and vehicles
with clean electricity. This is particularly important at airports,
considering their size and the number of unique fossil fuel use
cases requiring electrification. "
The federal funding will help DEN complete a study of how
to build an inventory of available electrical capacity across its
53-square-mile campus, develop projections for future electrical
demand by use and location, and create a roadmap and
action plan to ensure that electrical power is available when
and where it is needed.

Chicago Department of Aviation Seeks To Hire
More Than 80 Aviation Security Officers
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is seeking to
hire at least 85 Aviation Security Officers (ASOs) for O'Hare
and Midway International Airports, Commissioner Jamie L.
Rhee announced.
ASOs at Chicago's airports perform a wide variety of tasks,
including:
* Conducting regular patrols throughout the terminal,
grounds and perimeter of their assigned airport
* Verifying identification badges at designated checkpoints
* Inspecting vehicles entering the airfield and other restricted
zones
* Responding to safety and security incidents, including
detaining individuals suspected of violating laws or security
protocols

" Each day, more than 50,000 badged employees report
to work at Chicago's airports with one top priority in mind:
the safety and security of passengers who arrive, depart and
connect through our airports, " said Rhee. " Our team of
dedicated ASOs provide a critical security presence and help
to ensure O'Hare and Midway are quick to respond to any
situation with the support of our partners at the Chicago
Police Department, the Chicago Fire Department and federal
agencies. "

Miami International Airport's Concourse D
Skytrain Set To Resume Operations
Miami International Airport (MIA) recently reintroduced
three out of four Concourse D Skytrain stations into service.
After undergoing extensive repairs and testing over the past
six months to address structural issues, the Skytrain is primed
to enhance passenger convenience and efficiency once again.
Built 25 years ago, the Skytrain was temporarily decommissioned
on September 15, 2023, following regulatory inspections
that revealed structural concerns near station 1, necessitating
