Fun fact about yourself:
I've lived in six different
countries in the past 10
years.
My favorite thing about
aviation is: I like the cities
that airports are in and
being able to travel the
world to these cities and
meet different people and
different cultures.
David Delaney
David Delaney was always interested in aviation and airplanes
when he was growing up.
He got a job with a large technology company as an engineering
intern while he was in college where he rotated through
the company's different lines of business. The aviation sector
stood out as the most interesting and Delaney knew he wanted
to be a part of it.
" We get to build stuff, " he said. " You get to see a project from
start to finish and there are few industries that you get to do
that. You can start from a design and a customer need for
something and then design a machine, build it and put it into
operation and actually see it support an airport. "
Delaney is vice president and general manager responsible
for BEUMER Group's Airports Division in North America.
" I like building teams, I like teams that work together, " he
said. " I like finding solutions for customers and I like being
able to put yourself in a position where you're working with
people internally and externally that want to work with you
to find solutions. "
Delaney was involved in multiple baggage handling projects
with varying degrees of leadership; including Abu Dhabi, Sinwww.AviationPros.com/21238163

Changi and Denver. He also participated in several
high-profile international airport projects in his tenure with
another company in their baggage handling and logistics
business.
" It's really exciting to find a customer that's interested in
technology, " he said. " I'm an engineer by background. I love
the technology aspect of it and the automation and finding
customers who are interested in that and want to learn more
about it and being able to put together a team to deliver to
your customers. "
Delaney served as the project director for BEUMER Group at
San Francisco International Airport (SFO), delivering the first
ICS baggage handling system in the U.S. The project ran from
2016 to 2020 and is the highlight of his career.
" What we did in San Francisco helped the airport achieve
its LEED goal and sustainability goals, " he said. " I'd like to
do more of that. "
Delaney earned both a BS in Mechanical Engineering and
MBA from Kettering University.

Fun fact about myself: I
love being able to take my
own plane to dinner and
other events. People are
usually shocked at my mode
of transportation!
Someone I look up to in
the industry: Jim Elwood
Gloria Bouillon CM, ACE
As the daughter of a French immigrant, Gloria Bouillon always
envisioned flying her family to France instead of flying commercially
when she was growing up.
She knew she wanted to be a pilot from a very young age. When
Bouillon was 13 years old, she took her first flight with a bush
pilot her family knew to see if it was what she wanted to do.
" We took off from this little grass field airstrip and he let me
take the controls for the takeoff, " Bouillon said. " The second
I was airborne, I was like 'oh my gosh, this is what I have to
do. There's no turning back.' "
Bouillon is the airport manager for the Beverly Regional Airport
(BVY). She manages the operations, security, marketing, capital
projects, contract negotiations, construction, maintenance
and all other aspects of running a growing regional airport.
She has worked almost every position in the industry and
understands the perspective from conducting economic
impact studies, creating master plans for airports, facility
layout plans, economic feasibility studies, operations, security,
project management for large construction projects, aviation
insurance, snowplow operator and even an airport rescue
firefighter at one time.
" I like to shake things up with the purpose of growth and
innovation, " she said. " Each time someone well-meaning

She previously worked as the manager of the Pittsfield Municipal
Airport , where she led the facility through two major
runway reconstructions, a masterplan, a terminal design
and building one of the largest solar arrays in the state of
Massachusetts.
" I like to think big and make that a reality, " Bouillon said.
BVY was about to lose its primary runway when Bouillon was
hired on, but she was determined to change the direction of
the airport.
Bouillon and her commission forged ahead with a master
plan to meet the needs and growth of the community in the
next 20 years. She wants to collaborate and connect with the
community, local and state agencies to be a present partner
in growth and opportunity.
" The airport now instead of contracting and demolishing a
runway is now looking at its biggest expansion in history, "
Bouillon said. " We've moved from No. 9 in the state to No. 2
and I look forward to becoming No. 1. "
would tell me 'don't bring up that issue,' that was the times
that I really stuck my neck out because I'm so understanding
that whenever you overcome a challenge what the rewards
will be. "
