to address customers' quality, time to
market, and cost requirements. "Beyond
meeting the functional requirements of
their devices, we include specific capabilities that are critical for automotive
applications," he said. "For example, our
real-time monitoring systems ensure that
instruments apply valid conditions to the
device under test. On the software side,
we support tools that convert test specifications to test programs and provide
auditing tools to validate that the customer's standards are universally applied
to all devices.
Aehr Test Systems offers products
that support package-part or wafer test
and burn-in requirements, according to
Vernon Rogers, EVP, sales and marketing,
and John Pioroda, director, marketing.
They commented that their customers'
end markets may require that wafers be
tested and burned-in to produce KGD,
while others might find that final package
test and burn-in is the right approach for
their manufacturing process. The company's portfolio can accommodate lasers for

lidar, memory used throughout the vehicle,
logic and microcontroller modules, and SiC
and GaN devices as well as other power
components used in power inverters and
onboard battery chargers. The equipment
performs test up to 2,000 V, supports BIST,
and offers the digital resources for testing
memory and logic devices in a massively
parallel architecture.
"Enabling our customers to test and
burn-in 18 SiC wafers in parallel delivers
a unique technology and cost-effective
production solution," Rogers and Pioroda
said. "Our market engagements continue
to drive our research and development to
even higher voltages in the future." They
added that Aehr's product portfolio is
scalable to allow customers to begin with
low capital investment at the R&D and
NPI stages and ramp up their investment
as production volumes increase, with full
carry-forward of their hardware and software with 100% compatibility.

Power test
EA Elektro-Automatik offers programmable power supplies and regenerative
programmable loads for testing power
conversion-systems including battery
charging/discharging systems, traction motors, and regenerative braking systems, according to Eric Turner,
general manager. The company's products provide "...the capability to test
these systems under a wide range of
conditions to assure compliance with
a bewildering array to test standards,"
he added, explaining that many tests
require use of voltage/power sequences (arbitrary waveforms) to simulate
normal and high-stress operating
conditions. "Elektro-Automatik programmable devices like the PSB10000
provide exceptional flexibility in this
regard," he said.
Turner commented that the company's products are suitable for all
stages of design and production,
adding, "Regenerative programmable power supplies and loads are
essential for testing of these higher
power systems with a minimum of
power consumption with up to 95%
of the power returned to the mains."
PPST Solutions offers a range of

bidirectional AC and DC power sources and loads to meet automotive test
requirements, according to Herman
vanEijkelenburg, director of marketing.
"For example, the all new AZX Series
bidirectional AC and DC programmable
power source offers 4-quadrant operation will full energy recovery to the grid
for both AC and DC test applications,"
he said. "Available power levels start at
30 kVA/kW and range beyond 200 kVA/
kW. vanEijkelenburg added that PPST
Solutions' products are used in R&D, compliance testing, and production testing of
a range of automotive products such as
electric AC or DC motors, battery packs,
and converters over a wide power range.
Kikusui offers products that can be
used in a range of automotive test applications, including specific systems for
automotive component tests, according
to a spokesperson. "Our PBZ Series bipolar power supplies are the foundation of
our LV124, LV148, and NDS standards and
Ford standards test systems, which combined with dedicated software to simulate
the necessary voltage fluctuation waveforms and short interruptions," he said.

"The PBZ is well suited for these types
of tests because of the built-in function
generator as well as the fast response and
low noise of the linear amplifier."
The spokesperson said the PBZ-A Series
expands the functions of the PBZ Series
to support high peak current for the increase in automotive electrical components and their peak current needs. "The
PBZ-A can support up to six times the
current rating for short periods of time
for testing that requires inrush caused
by the engine," he said. "A key advantage
