Checks merging clearance
ZF's Wabco OnSide blind spot detection system supports
drivers merging into adjacent, passenger side
lanes by checking them for clearance. According to
the company, the radar-based system alerts drivers
of the presence of a moving vehicle in a truck's blind
spot and provides a side collision warning to reduce
the risk of accidents. Wabco's OnGuardACTIVE helps
drivers mitigate or avoid rear end collisions. The system
detects moving, stopped and stationary objects
and provides visual, audible, and haptic warnings. If
necessary, the system will apply the brakes to avoid
or mitigate a collision. The company's OnLaneALERT
warns drivers of unintentional lane drifting. The product
integrates with SmartDrive Systems to provide
safety event video recording.
