WFS Awarded Three-Year
Contracts in Johannesburg

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has
expanded its cargo handling operation at
Johannesburg's OR Tambo International
Airport to accommodate new contracts
with Lufthansa and Swiss WorldCargo.
WFS expects to handle some 23,000 tons
per annum for the two airlines, which
have both signed three-year handling
agreements that began Sept. 1. The new
contracts will make WFS the second largest cargo handler in Johannesburg.
WFS has acquired the lease on a further
3,600 square meters of warehouse capacity in Johannesburg, purchased additional
cargo handling equipment and increased
its workforce to ensure high levels of service, safety and security for Lufthansa and
Swiss WorldCargo's air freight operations.
"Lufthansa and Swiss WorldCargo are
both highly respected for the quality of
their cargo operations, so we see these
contracts as a strong endorsement of the
WFS team and service in Johannesburg,"
said Malcolm Tonkin, general manager -
cargo, South Africa, for WFS.
"For our business in South Africa, this
was a unique opportunity to combine the
winning of two major airline contracts
with the chance to add a well-functioning
and equipped facility with a trained team
of employees."

Menzies Welcomes Qatar
Airways Cargo to Heathrow

Menzies Aviation announced that Qatar
Airways Cargo has moved into its new
base within Menzies Aviation's on-airport facilities at London Heathrow
Airport. The move is the result of a longterm agreement struck in July between
the two companies for Menzies to provide
cargo handling, freighter aircraft handling
and cargo transportation to and from
aircraft.
The warehouse capacity for the handling of the passenger and freighter cargo
exceeds 7,000 square meters and is the
largest dedicated warehouse capacity
solution ever provided by Menzies at
Heathrow. The Menzies team welcoming
Qatar Airways includes more than 60 new
joiners who have transferred from their
previous handling company.
"We're delighted to have everything
ready to welcome Qatar Airways Cargo to
their new home at Heathrow. Initially, our
new employees will be supported by eight
Menzies ambassadors, who'll help them

to get their bearings in our warehouse
and learn about the equipment and systems," Robert Fordree, Menzies Aviation
executive vice president, cargo, said. "It's
good to have some positive job news to
talk about with the transfer across of so
many employees. We've given them a big
welcome with a full induction program
designed to introduce them to our business and support them too. The feedback
from the team has been very positive and
we're all looking forward to a successful
working partnership."

Air BP Renews Contract at
France's Cannes Mandelieu
Airport

Air BP has renewed its contract with
Cannes Mandelieu Airport (CQE/LFMD)
in France, following six years of successful collaboration. It will continue to
be the sole supplier of Jet A-1 and Avgas
at the airport. Cannes Mandelieu is the
country's second most important general aviation hub and one of Air BP's 47
locations in France among its 390 strong
European network of supplied sites.
Air BP will work with Cannes Mandelieu Airport and the Aéroports Côtes de
Azur (ACA) team to continue to provide
safe and efficient operations. Plans include
upgrading facilities with the relocation
of fuel storage tanks, pending requisite
approvals, to enable increased parking
capacity and an improved customer
experience.
"We are pleased to be continuing our
hugely successful relationship at one of
Europe's premier airports. This contract
renewal reinforces our belief in regional
airports and their importance for local
infrastructure and economic development," Jean Mousa, Air BP general aviation sales director continental Europe said.
"We look forward to working together with
the team at Cannes Mandelieu as we welcome general aviation customers and card
holders this year."
