TAG Macau FBO Achieves
IS-BAH Stage 2 Certification

TAG Aviation Macau's fixed base operation
(FBO) has been awarded for its commitment
to safety and quality ground handling by
the International Business Aviation Council
(IBAC) with the International Standard for
Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage 2
certificate of registration.

The IS-BAH standard, which focuses on
the refueling, ground handling and storing
of general aviation aircraft, is a set of global
industry best practices in safety management
and risk mitigation for business aviation
ground handlers. The accreditation process
involves a complete audit of the FBO's safety
management systems, emergency and security
procedures, organizational structure, training
protocols and operating procedures.
"It's definitely not easy to get this IS-BAH
Stage 2 certification during this difficult time.
Without the entire TAG team, we wouldn't
have been able to achieve this accreditation
almost a year ahead of schedule," said Rita
Tam, general manager of TAG Macau FBO.
"I am proud to see the effort and spirit that
everybody has put in around the clock during
this audit period."

Shell Launches Solution to Meet
SAP-Free Refueling Deadline

Shell Aviation, working with filtration specialist FAUDI Aviation, has launched Shell
Jet Protection, a superabsorbent polymer
(SAP)-free refueling system available to the

aviation industry. The technology is also a
SAP-free system capable of utilizing existing
filter monitor vessels to be adopted into standards by the Joint Inspection Group (JIG).
From Dec. 31, 2020, the industry standard
controlling filtration systems containing SAP
will be withdrawn, due to concerns about its
suitability for use. In rare cases, SAP can leak
from water filters into engines during refueling, causing operational issues. Shell Aviation
will convert its entire fleet of refueling trucks
to Shell Jet Protection at all Shell-operated
locations worldwide, with the aim of being
SAP-free by the end of 2020.
"At a time when aircraft operators are
focused on the path to recovery, we are
committed to supporting our customers and
partners across aviation in preparing for the
industry's transition away from SAP-based
water filters," said Thomas de Boer, head
of operations at Shell Aviation. "Filtration
experts at Shell and FAUDI Aviation have
been working together to find alternatives to
SAP since 2015, well before the Energy Institute's mandated change in 2017. It is a real
point of pride that we have been able to deliver
a solution for the industry well ahead of this
year's deadline."
"With the deadline for moving away from
SAP fueling systems fast approaching, it is
important that the aviation industry prepares
for this change now," Marcus Wildschütz,
president of FAUDI Aviation, said. "We're
proud to have worked with Shell Aviation on
the only SAP-free drop in solution to protect
aircraft engines from the very real risk that
SAP migration poses to engine operations."

Fraport Hands Over New Air
Cargo Warehouse to Swissport

After a construction phase of just under one
year, Fraport handed over the keys for a new
cargo handling warehouse on Sept. 16 to
Swissport Cargo Services Deutschland GmbH
as the facility's future operating company.

requirements. The new building - located in
CargoCity South at Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
- has 17,000 square meters of floor space,
