his contract until Dec. 31, 2026. In addition to responsibility for operations, Gloy
has also assumed the role of chief human
resources officer as of March 1, 2021 and
thus, as part of a restructuring within
the cargo executive board, will
henceforth also bear responsibility for human resources
and procurement at the
company.

with Harald Gloy we will have
an outstanding appointment to
the Operations and Human Resources
departments at Lufthansa Cargo for
another five years, " said Harry Hohmeister, member of the executive board of
Deutsche Lufthansa AG and chairperson
of the supervisory board of Lufthansa
Cargo AG.
Gloy has been with the group since
1999 and was appointed chief operations
officer of Lufthansa Cargo AG on Jan. 1,
2019. Previously, the 48-year-old industrial engineer held various management
positions at Lufthansa Technik.

Allen Appointed to Lead
dnata's Global Operations

The Emirates Group has announced the
appointment of Steve Allen as the executive vice president of dnata. Allen will
be responsible for all dnata's businesses
covering ground handling, catering and
travel across six continents
In addition, he will assume
responsibility for managing
Emirates Group's relationships with its associated
businesses, including MMI,
Emirates CAE Flight Training
and Premier Inn. He will report to
Gary Chapman, until Chapman's retirement at the end of March.

Menzies Oslo and Vestergaard
Partner on Electric Deicing
Unit Trial

Menzies Aviation announced its trial of
the Vestergaard Elephant e-BETA, a new
electrically operated deicing unit, at Oslo
Airport. This is the first trial of its kind
in Europe, and the second globally, marking a significant step forward in ground
handling sustainability.
This trial complements Menzies'
'Go Green' project, established in
Oslo in 2018, through which Menzies
has made significant investment into
reduced-emissions ground handling
equipment to reduce its carbon footprint.
" We're proud to be working with
Vestergaard Company to pioneer this
sustainable ground handling solution,
which builds on the progress achieved
through our 'Go Green' project. The
successful trial of this electrically-driven
deicer promises to bolster not only the

sustainability of our deicing operations
at Oslo Airport, but the sustainability
of the industry at large, " said Thomas
Hoff Andersson, vice president Northern
Europe, Menzies Aviation.

IATA Travel Pass Successfully
Trialed on First International
Flight

The International Air
Transport Association
(IATA) announced the
arrival at London's
Heathrow Airport of the first traveler
using the IATA Travel Pass app to manage their travel health credentials.
" The successful implementation of
IATA Travel Pass in this trial with Singapore Airlines passengers demonstrates
that technology can securely, conveniently and efficiently help travelers and
governments to manage travel health
credentials. The significance of this to
re-starting international aviation cannot
be overstated, " said Alexandre de Juniac,
IATA's director general and CEO.
" Digital health credentials will be
essential as borders reopen and travel
restrictions get progressively lifted worldwide. The successful implementation of
the IATA Travel Pass reflects Singapore
Airlines' goal of using secure digital
solutions to verify health credentials, and
