Vaccine Shipments in Support

Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS), a subsidiary of Worldwide Flight Services
(WFS), has handled its first shipments
of COVID-19 vaccines from German
biotechnology company BioNTech as the
airport gears up to play a prominent role
in the global recovery from the coronavirus. Doses of the vaccine were handled at
FCS' facility at Frankfurt's CargoCity Süd
before being loaded into the cargo hold of
a Royal Jordanian Airlines' Airbus A319
bound for Amman.
FCS has been completing its preparations to support COVID vaccine
shipments since last year as part of
WFS' Project Coldstream initiative to
coordinate the group's global response to
the anticipated transportation of some
16 billion doses of vaccine. In Frankfurt,
this has included gaining CEIV certification by IATA in September as well as the
Pharma and Good Distribution Practice

Ender Diagnostics now offers a PCR test
innovation at the newly opened pre-departure testing facility operated by Checkport at Zurich Airport in Switzerland. The
new COVID-19 test is administered for a
fee, and the result is available within only
five hours. The tests are intended for people who do not show COVID-19 symptoms but need a test for travel or in order
to participate at specific events.

Following the opening of the pre-departure testing facility at Heathrow Airport on Oct. 20 2020, this is the second
testing facility operated at a major international airport with the participation of
Swissport.

NAS Air Cargo Operations in
Jordan Receive RA3 Validation

National Aviation Services (NAS) in
Jordan has successfully completed the
Regulated Agent third country validation process (RA3) in Jordan for their
air cargo operations at the King Hussein
International Airport in Aqaba.
This internationally recognized validation and certification process ensures
EU regulatory compliance for air cargo
transportation to EU countries. The validation demonstrates that NAS is fully
compliant with EU air cargo security
regulations and standards, which include
access control, cargo screenings, external
and internal audits, among others.
NAS Jordan closely follows NAS Ivoire, NAS Uganda, NAS Liberia and NAS
Kuwait which have all gone through this
process and currently hold valid RA3
validations for their air cargo operations.

Qatar Airways Cargo
Receives IATA's CEIV Pharma
Certification

Qatar Airways Cargo has been awarded
IATA's Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) certification in
pharmaceutical logistics. This achievement certifies the airline's expertise and
efficient handling of pharmaceuticals
and life science products.
The certification covers Qatar Airways
Cargo's operations, its robust Quality
Management System and supplier management processes in Doha. Qatar Aviation Services Cargo, the airline's ground
handling partner also received the IATA
CEIV Pharma certification for its pharma
handling and warehouse at Hamad International Airport in the State of Qatar.
