project incorporating customer
feedback based on experience of
more than 1,300 units in the field.
Additions include automated control
of boom positioning, auto boom park and operator skill level boom speeds. Upgrades
include the control system with key functions integrated into joysticks, intuitive
diagnostics and excellent maintenance access for quick and easy repair. The Tempest i
uses the Air First Deicing system, single-operator system and single-engine design, all
targeted to safely reduce environmental impact and operational costs.

The Wing Armor Anti-icing System tracks the
amount of fluid dispensed to prevent over-spray.
Two TURBO XL digital meters on the unit
accurately measure the anti-icing fluid sprayed
from each gun. The pressurized system applies
fluid with dual application guns with dual meters,
ensuring even application on both wings and
allowing crews to spray both wings simultaneously.
The system offers a low profile that enables it to fit
underneath the wings of most business jets. The
unit, which weighs less than 1,000 pounds when
full of fluid, also features a tow-bar so that it can be
hooked up to a tug and moved around.

can be supplied with the PPS - Precise
Positioning System. PPS helps
constantly ensure the correct, optimal
distance between the nozzle and
aircraft - typically 1 meter, improving
safety and reducing workload for the
operator. With shorter spray distances,
the highest possible ADF temperature
can be kept, thereby maximizing
energy transfer from fluid to aircraft.
Compared to a spray distance of 2
meters, the ADF temperature can be
10 to 40 degrees C higher.
