6 STEPS TO
SAFETY DURING
A VEHICLE LIFT:
1. Schedule lift inspections each
year. If possible, have lifts
inspected by an ALI-certified
lift inspector.
2. Increase vehicle washing
intervals. A dirty vehicle can lead
to added repair time and costs.
3. Prioritize technician safety.
Always ensure vehicles are
lifted to a proper height that
allows the technician to
comfortably move around.
4. Adhere to proper lifting points.
Use designated lifting points
on the vehicle.
5. Ensure lift is stable. For mobile
lift columns, check for a firm
foundation and level ground.
Also check the lifted vehicle
is level.
6. Go ergonomic. Use lift
accessories specifically
designed to help ensure
operator safety and
proper ergonomics.
IDEAL FOR THE REMOVAL
AND INSTALLATION OF
VEHICLE TRANSMISSIONS
The OTC High-Lift Transmission Jack,
TJH10, is ideal for the removal and installation
of vehicle transmissions. The jack has
a capacity of 1,000 lbs and features a
universal saddle with large, easy-to-grip
knobs to adjust the head. A foot-operated
pump and lowering pedal allows for ease
of control when positioning or removing a
transmission. The hydraulic system features
flash-chromed rams to prevent rust from
entering the system, prolonging jack life.
A built-in safety overload system prevents
the jack from being used beyond its rated
capacity. Two locking casters help keep the
jack in position during use.
